The Pelican Hotel Cantonments Accra

This recently opened hotel continues to shine and offers very good service. Our suite was quite spacious and having a clean kitchen was helpful. The lobby is also clean, comfortable, and spacious. After commenting in my previous stay about problems with off-site laundry service, it seems to have improved.

Hubby and I enjoyed a great 3-night stay! All staff were extremely kind and welcoming. Nice breakfast buffet was included with our room rate. We had the smallest room which I personally wouldn't do again. It did not have enough space to layout both of our large suitcases. Only a small walking lane on each side of the bed. Also included an armoire with shelving, a desk, and a folding luggage rack. The room was very clean and included coffees, teas, snacks, a fridge, toaster, and two large bottles of water. Wished it had a microwave!

Our room included a balcony which overlooked the main street. Had two chairs and a small table. Very busy street to people watch and see traffic!

We did experience the following issues but each was immediately addressed when we reported:
1) A/C not cold 2) shower drain clogged

We would definitely consider staying here again!

Very clean, staff very friendly, surprisingly room service foods was very good ( jollof, chicken and Kelewele/plaintains). Its within 10-15 minutes of town, Makola market, museum and the airport. Our room was noisy because it was above the garage on one side, street on the other side so car and bike noises and air planes overhead that sounded like they were about to land on the roof.

Nice scents too

This property was very nice. It is modern and comfortable. It's new and centrally located to everything. About 10 mins from the airport and close to lots of restaurants. The staff was amazing!! Each and everyone one of them! Except the management/owners..

However.. there were a few things that need improvement:

1 - The breakfast buffet was expensive for what they offer. There are other hotels in the area that offer a breakfast buffet that has more options that cost less. The food was average.

2 - The management/owners which are Turkish, were not friendly at all and did not acknowledged the guest. There was no, "Hello, how are you? How are things going? Can I help you with anything? They just walked around making sure the employees were inline but never interacted with their guest. When I said hello to them they never opened their mouths, just nodded their head.

3 - There was NO hot water. I was there seven nights and maybe had a lukewarm shower twice. It was just warm not hot! And for these reasons I will not return.

Wow, the pelican hotel is a beautiful new facility, the room we were given was incredibly small. Learned later, that the standard room in other parts of the hotel we’re nearly twice the size! Either of these rooms should be priced accordingly or given only to those who may be traveling alone. Will not be coming back.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Pelican Hotel Cantonments in Accra. The personnel were informative, polite and very customer focused. The property was secure, clean, extremely comfortable and welcoming. The location was excellent...close to markets, entertainment and great restaurants. Thank you for making our first visit to Ghana memorable.

An amazing hotel. The rooms are clean and tastefully furnished with excellently courteous and well trained staff. The cuisine was equally superb.

Very nice hotel. Clean, and has everything you need. Excellent location.

Good location. Stylish design. The pool was closed due to renovation. Slightly loud room from the main road outside. Friendly staff.

I will return! Great hotel and staff. The best breakfast and such an accommodating staff. The room was smaller than they appeared in the photo, barely any floor room for our humanitarian supplies but the kindness of hotel staff made up for it. My team was very disappointed that the pool didn't work but we let it go and enjoyed the area.

Great stay! Staff are attentive and polite, rooms are great quality and condition and super clean.
