Pros:

Iconic and beautifully restored historic building with views across the sea. Spacious room. Excellent service from staff and a great breakfast.

Pros:

The STOEP is beautifully designed and beautifully positioned for a Kalk Bay getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hot tub overlooking the beautiful sea view was a highlight and the friendly staff made us feel welcome and at home.

Pros:

The hotel is a beautiful historic building and has been reovated to a very high srandard. Faith who hosted us at the hotel is a total delight, welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious too. Great location overlooking the ocean, the wide verandah the perfect spot to enjoy the views. Its an easy short walk to all the restaurants, bars and fab quirky shops. We definetly hope to stay again next time we are in Cape Town.

Pros:

We booked two weeks before our stay but when we arrived there were initially only construction workers on site and the hotel was closed. A manager was called and surprised that we had been able to book as Stoep was meant to be offline for renovations. We checked again while standing with him and Stoep was still live on the booking sites and accepting reservations. After 4 hours of searching (Kalk Bay fills up fast and you will struggle to find accommodation on the day) we found the last room at another hotel down the road. Despite repeated requests, Stoep never refunded us our booking (pre-paid online). We tried to speak to the General Manager but our calls were never answered / messages responded to. I would not risk booking here - even if they say renovations are now complete - they did not look like small renovations.
