Located on Willy-Brandt Strasse, 13.9km from Hamburg Airport.
Arrived and were quickly seen by reception staff who spoke excellent English. Hotel seemed fairly busy in the bar but we didn't visit.
Room was fairly basic, but clean well presented, got a decent nites sleep, shower was hot and worked well.
Reception the day after was happy to book a taxi for our departure the day after without issue.
Nice fairly no frills accommodation in a decent spot
Everything was lovely.
Staff were amazing,efficient and friendly.
Good place to stay when visiting Hamburg.
Breakfast good too.
The room was clean, normal size for a couple, shower is clean and water is hot enough.. the bad things are that you cannot open any window for fresh air and the parking is quite expensive and you must pay even if you booked the hotel. The staff on reception are not very friendly and you see on them that they don't want to be there mostly when you put them to speak english. They are quite rude in all the 3 days I was there, the vending machine not working and the breakfast is also a bit expensive for what they offer.. to have an idea, breakfast is 18 euro per person and the parking is 4 euro per hour, 30 per day.
Second trip Hamburg , second stay at this Hotel . Very handy to the city centre ( walk in 10 mins ) clean , warm and a great bar. I will be back !
Stayed here as a couple for five nights at the end of July 2025. We booked a “Premier Plus” room which was located on the fifth floor.
We choose hotel based on location and price. The stay was adequate and mainly what you would expect from a PI. There are pros and cons of staying here.
Pros:
Location - central location beside the U-Bahn line # 1.
Comfort - room was comfortable and we slept well.
Hotel bar - nice bar with reasonably priced drinks.
Cons:
Customer Service - Really really poor. I don’t think i have ever came across such disinterest and unfriendly staff. The male staff at reception who checked us in and out were particularly poor.
Room cleaning - did bare minimum. When we arrived the waste bin in our room was overflowing. No idea how this could be missed. I had to go looking for the cleaners to get them to empty bin.
Finally we included breakfast in our booking and it was basic fare but had enough options so was fine.
Overall a reasonable priced city centre hotel with good points but let down by customer service.
We were welcomed really well by a lovely guy on reception who is a great representative for the hotel. I think his name is Massos, apologies if I've got that wrong.
The room was great and the location is superb.
There were just 2 glitches...
The guy on the bar was miserable!
The same guy was then rude when I asked a question when we were checking out. His attitude stank. His colleague smoothed it over beautifully and was another asset to the hotel.
I would only return or recommend because of this, as another guest whispered to me that this staff member is leaving soon. This doesn't excuse this kind of behaviour but may explain it.
How do I properly summarize the bad attitude of the staff? We were given a room. A fairly nice one which was wheelchair accessible though it wasn’t needed. It was big and bright. Unfortunately the air conditioner did not function. They said there was a problem in the hotel unfortunately but they would try to do something. 6 hours later when we returned it was still not working. We complained again. They said they could make the room 19 degrees. We went to dinner. We returned it was still 22. Downstairs we went. Ok we will put you on the upgrade floor. That sounded great. The “enjoy your upgrade” as we walked away was a bit less than pleasant.
The upgraded floor, which wasn’t available when I went to book, looked the same as our old floor. The new room was less than half the size. Literally there wasn’t room for two stands for two suitcases. It was downright claustrophobic. Not as bad as a Japanese hotel where you couldn’t move the chair from the desk but nearly. My partner went downstairs to see if there wasn’t room really no way to fix the air in our old room. The manager said he would reset it to 19 again. My partner went up to the old room only to find the AC set at 22. He went back down and the desk was empty. My partner waited and waited. Someone else eventually came from the back. She said she could reset. She disappeared and 10 mins later said it’s done. It wasn’t.
We spent the night in the upgraded cell. Oh there is a nespresso machine which 1) takes up desk space you need for your suitcase and 2) looks like they charge you for because there’s a price list.
The next morning there was clearly no understanding we had changed rooms. No effort had been made to deal with a building engineer to solve theAC in the first room. Though I wanted to stay in the cooler, smaller room, we moved back to original which was reset to 19. (Really we saw the number). My partner and I left separately and both mentioned that the room wasn’t getting cooler. I was curtly informed my colleague had already told them. I did ask if they were going to do anything. I heard an audible sigh before “we try”. It stayed at “19” but might as well have said anything. The hallway was far cooler.
Next day we went out most of the day and came in late. Housekeeping took the keycard out and so reset the faux “19” back to 22. When I went down to the desk the clerk said he had no access to reset the temperature “very sorry@. I’d have made a stink if the temperature made a difference.
Breakfast: it is fine. It’s not worth 35€ a couple other than the convenience of not having to go out. It is standard hotel buffet fare.
Stayed three nights at this Premier Inn. Arrived very late after a very long journey. Friendly staff and good check in experience. Room was modern, comfortable, spotlessly clean and very quiet. Everything worked in room and the air conditioning was perfect as we arrived in a very hot spell.
All in all I think the UK could learn a lot from this Premier Inn, it was like the good old days when they first started to take off in UK.
Breakfast was good, continental but all good quality produce, again plentiful and replenished to demand. All of the staff serving were clean, tidy and presentable, something I have noticed sadly lacking after staying in several PI in uk recently.
Would recommend for location, being close to the station and a great base for exploring Hamburg. Hope to rerun.
We were due to travel on 21st April for 4 nights, family of 4. We had a family bereavement and contacted hotel via email 19th April to reschedule our booking as allowed in terms and conditions. No contact. I called hotel directly on Sunday 20th April. They would not help, I had to call reservations on Tuesday 22nd. I called reservations on Tuesday 22nd April and got transferred to Premier Inn Hamburg Zentrum. On hold and no one picked up. I sent another email last night. I am out of pocket over €500 as we need reschedule our hotel for next year but at this stage I am worried the hotel will think we were are no show and not honour this booking. I really don't like leaving negative reviews but I really don't need this unnecessary upset when we are going through a very sad passing of a dear family member......PREMIER INN HAMBURG ZENTRUM - CONTACT ME
