Nereus Retreats

Great experience ! Gluten free delicious food, fresh from local farmers,water filtered and UV sterilized, we fished and cook prepared fish for us,owners have exceptional customer service, staff courteous and very prompt and note, secluded beach, long walks, felt like our private beach. All in all a 5 star experience .
However : access not very easy and completely remote ( 5 miles from Puerto Jimenez), for us it was ideal since we wish to avoid crowds and mainstay touristic avenues.
Shall revisit !!!

Great place if you want to be distant from the people, surrounded by the jungles and be the only person in the ocean swimming.

If you´re in the area look no further - stay here! A few steps from the a long beach you will have to yourself most of the time. Wonderful hosts Stuart and Jen will make you feel at home in this modern and perfectly maintained bungalow hotel - they really get what hospitality is about! My son (11) and I enjoyed the friendly chats, great healthy food, good coctails, and the surf lesson that Stuart organized for us. Very spacious, well furnished, comfortable rooms/bungalows with a lot of attention to detail (including finally enough space to hang everything in the bathroom, as well as perfectly filtered water so you really can drink from the tab). We hope we get a chance to stay here again!!

This resort was an amazing discovery. We really loved our time there.

Perfect for a relaxing retreat with or without the yoga and a good place for the activities in the Oso/Corcovado area. Jen and Stuart’s hospitality is exceptional - everything you need, when you need it, with no fuss, and very well priced (eg $10 for a delicious lunch). Breakfast is delicious. Stuart’s cocktails are great. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone. The only thing i would have done differently is hiring bikes in town for greater flexibility.

Property is an actual retreat, so keep that in mind while booking. Car is almost a must, 4x4 highly recommended but not you can make it there with smaller cars (not that small). The place is very nice, property seems very new. I would definitely come again.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour,nous étions avec notre fille de 25 ans et une de ses amies , nous avons adoré l'endroit qui est très nature , accès à l'immense et magnifique plage preciosa, l'hôtel est installé au milieu d'un parc , une expérience hors du commun... La nourriture est délicieuse et variée ,preparée avec soin par Stuart et Jenny. Stuart est charmant et a un très bon relationnel avec ses clients. J'ai juste regretté de ne pas pouvoir vraiment échanger avec lui car mon anglais est limité, heureusement les filles ont communiqué...
Nous sommes restés 3 nuits du 11 au 14 mars dernier et je recommande vivement cet endroit exceptionnel ambiance familiale et chaleureuse..

This is a once in a lifetime stay! The property is stunningly beautiful and located deep in the heart of what feels like one of the last "untouched" parts of coastal Costa Rica. If you want a real and authentic experience that's still safe and comfortable, I can't recommend Nereus more highly. Stuart and Jenny are AMAZING and what they've built is nothing short of an oasis. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

Stuart is a great host

Notre séjour au Nereus a été merveilleux. Tout d'abord le lieu est calme, entouré d'une nature luxuriante et nous entendons le bruit des vagues au bout du chemin. Nous sommes entourés par les singes hurlants, les capucins et un couple d'aras. La nourriture est excellente. Des repas équilibrés, frais et savoureux. Après 2 semaines de "rice & beans" c'était pile ce qu'il nous fallait. Stuart est un hôte attentionné en nous donnant un tas d'informations utiles et en nous aidant à organiser nos excursions. Et pour ponctuer le tout notre bungalow était confortable et spacieux (grand lit, climatisation et douche chaude).

Amazing hosts, delicious food, a perfect place to wind down.

Such a beautiful peaceful place for a week (or more) stay. The rooms are gorgeous with big fans and AC if needed. Right on the quietest most tranquil beach I have had to pleasure of walking on. No one around and was easy to do a 6 mile walk and stretch your legs. Super gentle water to swim in and I rented a paddle board for several days to enjoy the Ocean. We accessed Corcavado National park within minutes to the launch point to see Sloths, birds and much more! All this topped with a delicious kitchen that is health supportive as needed, yoga on tap and even an amazing massage therapist onstaff. Could not ask for more and highly recommend- photos do not it's beauty and serenity justice.
