The staff were exceptional.
The road noise, which is unavoidable for the venue, was very loud throughout the night and early morning. I was unable to get a decent night sleep. The room was tired and falling apart in places int he bathroom. Not the Dulux Eoo standard I would expect.
Very welcoming! Friendly team, super helpful and great food…a terrific country pub/hotel/restaurant
Nothing negative to say
Well presented and comfortable.
The room needed a general repaint and deep clean. Plaster gouges on walls. Cobwebs hanging from high ceiling. Architrave and Skirting boards chipped and tired. Fridge very noisy at night. To be fair there was a warning note about that. However the on off switch was masked by a mirror meaning having to clear the dressing table to reach it.
The Pub was good but the food was quite pricey.
Having said all of that, the staff were vey welcoming and friendly
Fantastic staff, amazing food and wine. A very clean and comfortable room. We were made to feel very welcome. It is a lovely old style public house with a homely feel. It is located a very short drive from the Redbridge park and ride for easy access to explore the city.
Very helpful and friendly staff
Amazing value
Good food
Convenient and private.
Room looked a bit tired - stained upholstery. Needed a kettle for tea making - coffee maker gave luke warm water unsuitable for tea.
Lovely staff and accommodation
The pillows were uncomfortable and the bed was a bit lumpy
5 star standard! Absolutely gorgeous. Rooms are outstanding. Restaurant Michelin standard. Staff absolutely fantastic. Dear reader - please - don't bother considering other hotels.....book your stay here today. You won't be disappointed, I promise!
Everything! Perfect for the money.
Food prices are expensive, burger, chips, 1 Guinness and a Diet Coke, £45
Convenient location which was easy to find and access. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great food.
Bathroom floor (which was slate or similar) very cold underfoot. Basin tap really hard to turn on for someone (like me) with slightly arthritic fingers!
Found the dressing table area very congested with tea & coffee making items.
Convenient for work
Room was cold
Great location, easy to find, bags of free parking right outside the pub and electric vehicle charging points readily available. Just a 20 minute drive to the heart of Oxford. The rooms are outstanding, and the staff cannot do enough for you. This really is a total gem of a place. A superbly comfortable bed, fresh linens and lovely toiletries with a gorgeous wet room. The mini bar is absolutely outstanding in its choice and variety and the food is ridiculously delicious put together with creative flair and style.
Nothing, I liked it all and can't wait to go back
Friendly staff and very cosy, thoughtfully decorated
Nothing
The location
The lights didn’t work in the room this morning
The good: The room was private and well laid out with all the essentials. The bed was comfortable and the lighting and power options by the bed were convenient. The shower was good and everything was very clean. The property was easy to find and parking was very convenient. The staff were friendly and check in was easy. The property is 13 minutes drive to the Redbridge park and ride which is very convenient for getting into Oxford.
The bad: When we got to the room it was freezing cold, especially the bathroom, it was a cold night but the thermostat was set to 14c (it was definitely colder than this) if you know you have guests coming it would make sense to pre-heat the room. The underfloor heating was not up to the task of warming up the room, (they say in the room instructions that it may take a while to heat up so if they know this why not do it before check in?) even after being on all night set to 23c the room was still barely warm and the floors weren’t hot either. We had to heat the bed up with the hairdryer and sleep in our clothes to be warm enough to sleep.
Also it’s a small thing but even at Premier inn and the like there are a couple of biscuits with the tea selection, it would have been nice to see this.
