It was trash
This hotel false advertises in pictures of a buffet breakfast available. Thank goodness there’s a Tim Horton’s down the street.
No pool, the entire hotel is under renovation which apparently has been long ongoing. It says it’s an IHG property but that’s a stretch.
My daughter was scared as the pillowcase had an old bloodstain on it. It was clean but she was terrified.
The bathroom was nice . The bed had a very light comforter on it but it worked as the AC wasn’t super powerful.
I couldn’t cancel and we definitely didn’t get a good deal.
It was a nice area and extremely quiet.
When we were checking in, we were told the hotel was under renovations. Pool was unavailable but did get a voucher for a visit to the local gym to use their pool.
Somewhat disappointed that I did not know at the time of booking.
So overall the place was fine, but I wished they had let us know sooner that the entire hotel was going to be renovated, which really disappointed me.
Pool and hot tub were unavailable (and that's what my family wanted), kitchen was under renovation so no restaurant/bar.
The place after renovations probably will look awesome as overall what they have is nice but it left me with a sour taste that the things I wanted weren't available.
Under renovations
No breakfast was served when it said there was. Pool was closed and hotel was under renovations
Easy check in, room was nice and clean, pool was nice but cold. Otherwise a great stay.
Good
Not happy that property condition was drastically different (Under Major Renovation) than as advertised on the web.
We were surprised to arrive at the property to find that it is under renovations and the pool is closed. There was no previous indication of these conditions and there was no way we were able to cancel the reservations when we got to the site. The room was still nice and we felt comfortable in it but, we were disappointed to pay the going price when the hotel is not up to the advertised condition.
the property was good, under construction so there is a lot going on. Only complaint is it should be stated somewhere that the pool and jacuzzi are not open due to construction, this did not impact my stay, but if i had my children with me and found out the day of check in i would have been very disappointed.
Wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst either..
My first night at the property there were drunk guests outside my hotel door in the hallway being loud.I contacted front desk. Clerk said GM was on way to take care of it.2 and a half hours later. Asked for room change-none available. Asked for refund. General Manager Maher Bacall won't return messages, calls, or email. Thoroughly Disgusted.
Everyone was very friendly
Great staff
Having breakfast and dinner made the stay seem real family like and the night receptionist was really great helpful and very polite. When we come back to Detroit we are definitely staying in troy.the double rooms were awesome and i loved the shower head in the bathroom.
Check in went well. Hotel was clean and easy to get to
Arrived after flying for 10 hours to find we could not check in, we were told Hotels.com didn’t release payment to the hotel because of a “faulty virtual card” and that I, the customer, had to call Hotels.com to fix it or I and the other 6 members of my party couldn’t get into our rooms. Turns out, it had nothing to do with me and there was actually nothing I did or could do, and it was a misalignment of backend systems between the hotel and Hotels.com. Therefore this error could have been sorted out weeks ahead of our arrival and we didn’t have to wait OVER AN HOUR and after midnight to get into our rooms. Not the staff’s fault, clearly the management couldn’t care less about resolving issues ahead of customers arrival. Overall the hotel is dated and not so clean. Room was fine, bed was good. Included breakfast was foul, mostly ultra-processed food served on styrofoam and plastic plates, cups and cutlery. So much waste.
friendly and clean
Hotel is starting to show its age.
