The Amber is my home base for all my out islands adventures!!!

Decent new hotel in a well connected area in Cebu City
Pros:

Well located new hotel, with a decent breakfast restaurant downstairs. The bed was comfortable and the room was small but well cut so that we didn't really struggle for space. Definitely can tell it's a new building - has a fresh look to it.

Cons:

The breakfast did not have any vegetarian options. They could take the ham out of the omelette which was the only dish that could be made veggie, but honestly it's a bit sad to only be offered that for a number of days in a row. The coffee was also quite terrible. I would have gladly taken the room without breakfast, it added nothing to the quality of my stay.

Pros:

The Location. Close to our purpose.

Cons:

The shower area! We ask the room to be cleaned everyday. However we told them we want an extra towel as after every shower there is huge splash of water on the floor since it is wide open. The first day we got an extra when we asked.. However succeeding days. not given extra. The shower area was aweful as there is a wide opening & no door or shower curtain in between.

Cons:

I was given a wheelchair accessible room for no reason and the room reeked of sewage. I could not sleep at all because of the smell from the bathroom. I wore a mask and then was able to get some sleep. Absolutely horrendous! Never again here.

The staff in the restaurant were friendly as well as the door men.

Cons:

I notified them 3 days in advance that my flight would be arriving at 2am and to please hold my room. The only response I got was "subject to availability" I asked what that meant and they said they would hold my room until 3am and after that I would be marked a no show. I booked this room 2 moon advance and was also giving them advanced notice of my late arrival. So for the next few days I had to have worry about weather my room would be waiting for me when I arrived in the middle of the night to a country I'd never been to before. What a real failure to make a guest feel welcome.

Next the room. I booked a deluxe suite. What I got was so small and definitely not a suite. Having a small table and chairs squeezed into the corner of an Already tiny too. Does not count as a suite. The bathroom is so tiny you can barely turn around in the shower. The water only ever gets luke warm and I had to request shower gel twice because it was never filled.

The breakfast is a prefix menu and just ok. What is really annoying is that they blast Christian music during the entire breakfast. It's totally offensive to have religious music playing. Why not something benign that everyone can either enjoy or ignore.

If you're considering Amber hotel I would skip it. There are better places for less money. I give it a big pass

The lift smells putrid, the shower floor is patchy black that’s looks like it not brushed clean, the glass door and wall of the shower has patches of black that looks like black fungi.

Pros:

Nice and clean hotel in a very good location, right next to the Fuente Osmeña Circle. The only minor downside is the lack of hooks or hanging space for towels in the bathroom. Apart from that, everything is very clean and well maintained. A simple breakfast is also offered, served à la carte each morning at the steakhouse located on the ground floor. Overall a good stay and highly recommended

As we arrived we where checked in by a moody and uncaring receptionist, to a somewhat small room with not enough space for basic personal stuff (we had only 2 trolies). Room facilities where in poor condition specialty in toilet sink shower area. Location is not pleasant to walk around.
