Overall, I was disappointed by this property, it did not meet the typical Waldorf Astoria standards.
Pros:

The location is obviously good, it’s in this beautiful area of Guanacaste. The pools are very nice, the bathrooms in the room were spacious and nice. Most of the staff, especially the bellmen, were very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The cost and the quality of this resort did not match at all. First off, the original room I booked with a Bahía view had a horrible view of a building and looked nothing like the photos online. Bahía means bay and we weren’t seeing any water, just building. There is construction happening on the property and it can be heard loud and clear, we were not warned about that before booking or when checking in. For being a new hotel I was really shocked by some of what is happening, the rooms themselves are already very dirty, my rug in the room was seriously stained. The side of the door into the room was peeling off and I cut up my arm by rubbing against it, I showed a photo of the door and let them know at the front desk and they didn’t seem to care or want to take care of it. If you are going to stay here beware that the costs of the room are hi, but so is everything else. A latte on the property is $9 for example. Really disappointed in this experience.

Pros:

Overall the hotel is good, very new and clean. Not so private tho because the beach is public. the staff is friendly. But receptionists make you feel miserable and look down at you even if you stay in the best suite.
This is someone unexpected in a 5 star property and especially in friendly Latin American country . Very disappointing won’t be back.

Pros:

We went for our 10 year wedding anniversary. First time to Costa Rica. Could not have had a better experience. The campus was spotless and verdant. The staff were unfailingly helpful and accommodating. The concierge staff were excellent and thoughtful. The food was delicious. And the views were stunning. 10/10 recommend.

Pros:

Beautiful resort and beach. The restaurant food for dinner had too many odd flavors placed together giving the entrees a terrible taste and increased richness. Very expensive food, not many options as well. The staff were amazing and very accommodating.
