Clean, affordable and lovely hosts

Staff at this hostel are very friendly and easy to deal with.
The wifi connection tends to be spotty, especially in the evenings.
It would have been nice to have a night light/bedside light.
The housekeeping there is very welcoming. When I arrived a bit earlier than the check-in hour, they just gave me a room which was already clean. My room was small but clean and cozy: clean bed sheets. You have everything in the room: a sink, air condition, ventilator and the private bathroom (even toiletries and of course towels), so I literally had everything in the room. It's not one of the fancy and luxurious places but you feel good and you can feel that the property is cared.
It is not the fancy place. The building is pretty old and finishing and everything is pretty old there, but it is clean and well maintained and you can feel that they do all their best.
When I reached at the Homestay, she said that the homestay were full. No more room for us. I booked the twin room and paid in advance through Booking.com. I received the email and said that my booking was confirmed with the booking number and pin. The payment had go through also. Once thing was that when I made the booking,, it did said that there was no refund.
So my friend and I went to look for another hotel nearby to stay.
There is something fishy with the Booking.com, Oya and JJ Homestay.
What happen to my money paid?
