The Rosario Resort seems to have fallen on hard times. While we liked the seaside setting and the cute little boat marina, the rest of the facilities looked abandoned or neglected. The two-story building we stayed in was well maintained, but we hardly saw anyone (other guests or staff) during our 2 night stay. We also discovered that the museum and restaurant are closed for renovations. Again, nothing unpleasant if you like secluded places but the whole thing had kind of weird vibe.
Go somewhere else! It is far removed from areas with shops and restaurants and the only cafe around was closed the entire time we were there. We were shocked when we opened the door to our room - stains on the carpet and bed coverings, the latch to the sliding bathroom door was bent and hanging on by one screw making it very difficult to slide the door, sooo much dust behind the TV, shower curtain was not long enough to cover the opening so water went on the floor... A woman in the room next to our said they had no towels and could not reach anyone. We received texts asking out the room and stay to which we listed the above, for which an auto reply was sent in response. On the second day I saw a woman with a cleaning cart coming out of a room full of towels and asked about getting more towels, but she never responded and just stared at me blankly.
What a surreal experience. We arrived at Rosario. No front desk. No map. No one around. We called the information number and were connected to someone who hadn’t seemed to have ever been on the property. We were given rough directions to our building and a code to open up our door. We had to call a couple of times to finally get into the room. Once in, it was clear that there were many things that suffered from not having a manager routinely inspect the premises. (Broken curtain rods, stained carpets). The room was right on the water and Rosario has outstanding potential. Though with no restaurant, no pool, no amenities it’s a strange virtual hotel stay.
We read reviews after we booked but hoped we'd be okay because we booked a Bayview room. We are on the first level in room 1300. The Bay can be seen if we go outside and peek through the weeds. We have zero privacy on the patio and in the room. The coffee supplier failed to deliver anything but decaf and the restaurant on the grounds is closed today and tomorrow. This place is a complete disappointment.
Miss the mansion. Also, key code did not work and we had to borrow another visitor's phone to contact office for a new code. They need management there. There were a few minor repairs needed in the bathroom; I took care of the squeaky hinges and tightened the toilet seat. Left the tub trim and TP holder for them.
We booked our stay in April 2025 for late August 2025 and the website said that the Mansion would be open in the summer. It was not and there is only one restaurant in the Marina (it is fabulous and not associated with the hotel). There was no food on Tuesday and Wednesday other than a snack bar at the Marina because that restaurant was closed and the Mansion is shuttered. Our check in was contactless but when we arrived our room was HOT and there was only Decaf coffee because they had "run out" of regular coffee! There was no AC, there were other guests on the same patio (no dividers) who were smoking and making noise late into the night. Although the room was big, it was tired and the carpet dirty, the shower drain was plugged, and I can only say that the King size bed was a King size. There was no room service on our second day and housekeeping came into the room when we were out to eat on the morning we were checking out and cleaned our room BEFORE checkout time! We came back to our room having the door wide open. Oh and the safe is not bolted to anything. For the money, this was so not worth it and we would not stay again.
stains on carpet, food crumbs on carpet, microwave oven not cleaned
The main mansion is being renovated and doesn’t look that great. The carpet in the room was so stained, it was yucky and no screen on the slider so we couldn’t leave it open and it was quite hot/stuffy inside the room and no a/c, but I did find two fans in the closet. Staff were very responsive via text and code got us into the room easily. Restaurant walking distance was great!!!
Beautiful ocean landscape, private, clean, and spacious inside. However, I had no where to sleep and there was NO STAFF ON SITE to resolve my ESSENTIAL needs problem. I booked the "honeymoon suite" via AirBnB for 3 guests per the listing as I was "treating my parents on a trip" from the original booking. Around 8:30PM, noticed no linen anywhere in the room for the pullout couch. Used room phone to attempt to contact both the "front desk" and "after hours manager" with no answer(just rang). Messaged the host via AirBnB in which they responded saying, "housekeeping left for the day and linen cannot be delivered until the AM." This wouldn't work as where was I supposed to sleep and we were only staying 1 night. Despite long waited messages, there was no solution by 10:30PM because "bedding was provided for the bed, which is their standard setup" despite transparency of 3 guests from the start(parents and 1 adult child). Not to mention house keeping was there at check-in time finishing up (they may have forgot to restock). The host refused to resolve this over text despite known minimal phone service in the area and they could not call into the room phone? For resolution, the host waited until I had service after checkout to talk offering unfair compensation for forcing me to sleep upright in a chair due to no linen for the pullout couch. Luckily, I booked through AirBnB who I reached out to about the issue and easily refunded 33% of the price and resolved the issue.
This was described as a Spa and Resort but it was anything but that. No spa, no resort. No onsite staff, or management. The grounds were overgrown and nothing like the photo. The mansion was closed. One onsite restaurant with no one there when we went. No daily housekeeping. Upon arrival I had to ask the housekeepers cleaning another room to come in and wipe the desk off that was dusty from ci struction. Our room had paint fumes. We slept with the slider open and a box fan going to get smell out. Carpets had huge stains, electrical outlets had no covers, slider door and screen broken. The door to the bathroom was filthy, and ceilings had stains from what appeared to be leaks. I immediately notify resort of our issues and asked for one night refund. Of course this was done over phone and text since no one was onsite. They said they would refund me upon check out. I talked and messaged them no less than 7 times. Upon checkout they said refund would come. Then I got a messsge that said since I booked through Booking.com id have to call or message them. The resort said they’d do that on my behalf, they did not. I tried for two days to get ahold of them but they didn’t respond. The whole stay was awful and time consuming. Both resort and booking.com had terrible customer service.
Nice but the staff and others seemed disconnected.. maybe lack of leadership?
Food was quite good with a cordial wait staff. Salmon was 4 stars.
The area is nice and convenient to many things we wanted to do. The room was clean, but the floor had many stains. The room itself was dated and needs updating. Stayed two nights and only received wash clothes for one night. Missed not having any tissues in the room.
Great stay nice room view all good.
We feel scammed. This is not as advertised. The website is not a good representation of what it looks like. The carpet is really dirty. The pool is empty. The mansion is closed.
The view from the room is gorgeous.
This more of a motel than a resort. They use a “virtual front desk” which is completely useless due to lack of cell signal in the area.
Overall, medium quality and the customer service poor.
I wouldn’t go back.
Location was nice. Views were very pretty and the grounds well cared for.
Rooms need major updating. Carpeting was stained and dirty. There was a musty smell in the room. Also if you operate a “resort” at a remote location at least offer a grab and go breakfast or lunch option. There was nothing there. No water fill or ice machine either.
No staff onsite- if you needed anything you had to call or text, however, the phone in our room was not operational and the WiFi was unreliable and couldn’t send messages out. Not worth it for the price. Basically left on your own with no staff support. No security at night either.
The main building is closed for renovations.
Great location, with a nice balcony and view. Bed was ok, but pillows were not. We would have appreciated some direction on where the hotel room was. It’s located nearby the hotel mansion but there was no one to instruct us where to go and no message that the room was in a different location under the name Bayside Inn.
This property was not at all what was advertised. It was listed as a resort with spa and restaurant for $400+/night. There was no resort, restaurant or spa. It was a small building of condos. The view was a partial water view from a corner of the small deck unless you had a waterfront unit of which there were very few.
There was no check in desk or person as the building was closed and apparently had been for a while with no plan to reopen. I was also bombarded with emails from them. I was so disappointed and believe this is a terrible value for the money. I definitely would not have stayed here if I had known what it was really like. There is a restaurant located in the village and we are grateful there was as there is no place to eat in this area. That was my reason for paying all of this money was to have a restaurant as part of the “Resort” as well as a spa.
