The Schoolhouse offers a unique place to stay in White Sulphur Springs. It is truly a converted school with tons of charm and modern conveniences. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant is great. Very near the Greenbrier.
Nice updated modern rooms with a taste of the past history of the school reflected in unique ways.
We had a great start . My only complaint is that the bed is pretty small. Thankfully, I am petite and so is my 13 yo daughter.. But even for us it was tight. I did request a room change with a larger bed but they were unable to accommodate me due to being at capacity. Otherwise, service was excellent and facility itself was very unique
Super weird. They put a massive additional charge on my card and couldn't explain why. Wouldn't recommend.
I love that all the property is handicap accessible and that it is so modern! The food is exceptional and the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were fun with all the high tech equipment.
This property is very nice, lots of special accommodations that i have never seen before. The old school has some memorabilia from the school placed throughout.
The Expedia listing said no charge for pets but the online registration and the desk person said it was $50. I picked it based on the free pet, and after speaking with the owners they did not charge me. (They were very friendly)
We enjoyed the rooftop bar and would recommend the hotel to anyone.
Nice hotel, but two issues. The WiFi was nonfunctional. Also, I paid through Expedia but the hotel charged me as well, so now I'm working to get the charge removed.
Schizophrenic remodeling philosophy. No expense spared on materials and style yet lacking essentials. A high tech toilet with 15 buttons that flushes before you’re done in the middle of the night, waking your wife. Alexa listening to every word yet not able to actually change the drapes, lighting, or TV set. No closet to hang your clothes. No iron, no ironing board, no fridge for your leftovers or microwave to reheat them. You can hear people walking on the upper floors. A decidedly unsuccessful experiment for Wyndham.
Rooms need closets, not a couple bars next to the TV. The phone needs to be next to the bed, not across the room on the wall. The shower needs a door or curtain to keep the warm air in. There was not enough counter space in the bathroom even though the bathroom was large. Counter space was wasted because things that should have been on a shelf weren't (no shelves).
Having extra control of the light level was nice, but the night light level was too bright. The beds were practically on the floor. It was nice nit to need a step ladder like some hotels, but going the other way is just as bad.
Great alternative to staying at the Green Briar for a business conference.
A
Very Unique
I booked a Queen via Expedia however it was definately a Full. That was a minor detail in a wonderful hotel. Completely AMA compliant in every room. Very clean, fresh and modern. A converted middle school.
The roof top bar was wonderful with a 4-6 happy hour and beautiful views. We only had bar snacks but the restaurant looked really nice.
I loved the idea of the renovation of an old school into a boutique hotel. The hotel was hip and high tech. Would definitely stay there again if I was back in the area.
The property was well-maintained, ADA friendly, clean, professional staff, “smart Home” wired, modern technology, modern amenities.
Remodeled from an old high school with modern interior design w nostalgic memorabilia from the original school days!
Nice restaurant/bar open late!!
Highly recommended!!
Very nice place
The rooms were small but comfortable, roof top bar was awesome
This Hotel is a hidden gem in White Sulphur. The transformation of a school into a hotel was done very well and the property is amazing!
The food was so awesome
Only complaint I would have is we could hear every loud noise outside our room. Technology and overall atmosphere was wonderful!
