Cheap and not so cheerful but served a purpose. Adequate for the price
They held our passports overnight even though we’d paid and this was the only hotel in all that we stayed in Vietnam did this. Didn’t feel welcome.

Hade to wait untill 2.oclock to get room even though hotel was not to busy could have let us in.room earley had to.leave vases in.lobby safe but not perfect
the room was clean.
The staff didn’t speak any English which wasn’t necessarily a problem until it came to booking transport for the next day. All the shops and hotels around the hotel have shut down so it feels rather eerie and it’s a far walk to the couple of restaurants still open. There was also no hot water in the bathroom.
The owners were really nice and helped us rent mopeds and also helped with our day cruise around Halong Bay. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable :) We got given water and fresh towels everyday which was great! Would recommend staying here, it’s close to the beach as well and nice to stay in for 3 days :)
Their wasn’t any restaurant’s in Ha long Bay so it is a struggle to find somewhere to eat, maybe the hotel could offer breakfast
