We had a memorable experience.
Pros:

We stayed in an ocean-view King Suite, which exceeded our expectations. Tons of room and fantastic view, not to mention an amazing wood fireplace.

Cons:

Everything was great. I especially liked the pro-level Nespresso coffee maker and pods.

Fabulous getaway in a resort with the best views and NW vibes.
Pros:

The property is gorgeous. Plenty of amenities in the room, and the most comfortable trees I’ve ever slept on! Staff were attentive and helpful.

Cons:

It took some time to get seated for dinner, however staff were limited, and I would have expected more attentiveness since the were not many diners.

Pros:

A non-working fireplace when it is one of the main features is not acceptable. No adjustment to the room rate. No offer whatsoever even though we expressed our disappointment twice.
Pet rate of $60 per night is excessive. Most places are $15-30 per night maximum.

We arrived early and requested an early check in if possible. Not only was this not provided but in fact our room was not ready on time and the hotel was much less than busy from what we saw.

Definitely room for a lot of improvement especially when charging your rates.

Pros:

This is a spectacular place to stay. The rooms have an upscale resort feel. Views are great. Little bakery downstairs has delectable pastries! Restaurant is pricey but excellent food! Definitely recommend this place!

The room was very comfortable, clean, cozy and had a great view. The dining room was freezing and the food was just okay. However, the dessert was OUTSTANDING. Cudos to the Pastry Chef.
Suggestion: Renovate the dining room, paint the doors going in and out of the kitchen, the dirt on them is very off putting.

Pros:

Our time at Sooke Harbour House was amazing. The location is second to none. The whole property has been newly renovated and the rooms have gorgeous front on ocean views. The restaurants also have great views and the food was extraordinary.. We would highly recommend this hotel.

The view from the room was excellent. The onsite restaurant, bar, and coffee “grab and go” were great. Excellent property. The only surprising thing was that the room doesn’t have air conditioning. They may not need it most of the time, however, it would have been nice to know ahead of time. We opened the small windows and used the fan provided. The windiest had screens. The sliding door did not. Leaving the sliding door open resulted in mosquitos in the room. I’m not sure if there is enough airflow with just the two small windows. Perhaps put a screen on the sliding door? It is easy to walk the Whiffin Spit from the hotel. Parking is easy.
