The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. The shower was nice and hot and the bathroom was large. There was a kitchenette in the room.
The only time we saw a staff member was at check-in. The front door was not locked when we got back. The location is a bit secluded. We felt a bit uncomfortable out there until a bus of tourists arrived. No restaurant or food available despite a large sign saying there was a restaurant.

We stayed for 2 nights. It is the best accommodation I’ve ever stayed in NZ. The architecture was beautiful, the room was clean,comfortable and stuffs were very kind.They have cute alpacas and sheep.

Felt reception on arrival was not interested and when we asked about breakfast was told it is just a continental breakfast and better off going to Oamaru. This differs from the website and reviews. Also would have been appreciated being told we could see the chapel in the morning as it was all locked up.
This was the worst night of accommodation during our entire trip. After making the reservation, we confirmed with the hotel in advance that two adults and one child were clearly acceptable. However, upon check-in, we discovered that the hotel had changed our room type without our consent. The actual room was significantly smaller than the one we had booked. The wardrobe had been replaced with a makeshift table, and the glass facing the corridor could not be fully covered, allowing light in at night and offering no privacy at all.
When we spoke with the manager, he repeatedly emphasized that an extra bed had been added for us, even though we did not need one. He also suggested that we move to a separate building away from the hotel’s main building. For safety reasons, we refused this option. Throughout the entire conversation, the manager never expressed any apology and was unable to provide the original room type we had booked.
This experience left us extremely dissatisfied and had a serious negative impact on our trip.
