Lovely location, great amenities.
The hotel is very heavily scented and, while not in the property’s control, the trains coming past are very disruptive.
A very nice historical building that is very well maintained. It is very clean and the staff is very friendly.
You cannot have a decent sleep, we woke up so tired. The train is really loud, I know it's not something the hotel can fix, they try to help with earplugs but I think it should be mentioned in the description for transparency. There is a lot coming thru the room as well so it does not help with a restful night. Lastly it was quite hot in the room at night and we could not control the temperature.
lastly the bar looked very nice but was closed so we could not enjoy it.
Peaceful, tasteful, quality facilities
Lots of bureaucracy around checking in. Breakfast was tasty but not hot.
Very beautiful , calm and smells so good . great breakfast and very nice staff .
I loved everything about it
Bright & beautiful place with comfy beds, lovely atmosphere and great breakfast. Staff was impeccable and I would recommend it strongly.
Loved it
Nothing
Centrally located and close to the historical centre of town on a large private and beautifully landscaped lawn.
The only thing that people should be aware of is that it is near a train track. It didn’t bother me but if you’re a sensitive sleeper they do provide ear plugs.
Although our stay was brief, it was impressionable. We stayed in the Balvenie Suite for our wedding night and everything was perfect from top to bottom. Staff were attentive and anticipated our needs, the entire property was GORGEOUS, breakfast was bountiful and delicious. Clean, peaceful, luxurious. We will 100% come back when we can.
The grounds, the pool, the staff, chocolates in our room, soaker tub all contributed to a wonderful stay. Thank you
I'm scent sensitive with asthma so I found the floral scent throughout the hotel was a bit much for me.
Beautiful place. Great staff! Thank you to the 2 ladies who took care of us while we were there. Room was perfect and relaxing. I love the style and and attention to detail. We will def be back! Bed and bedding was compfy ans so soft.
Rooms, location, housekeeper was absolutely tremendous unfortunately have forgotten your name (sorry)
Had 3 wonderful days thank you
Breakfast was well overpriced for property ( which we did not book $50 P.P + tax )and bar had to be requested for opening
The large bathtub was great to soak in after a long day and the included bath salts were nice. The bed could be way better for what the place is. Creaky and low to the ground. I’ve had better beds at the holiday inn. Location was convenient to walk to old area for shopping and food. Grounds were nice.
Loved the look, size, ambiance, privateness, lots of areas to relax in away from people
Wished the pool was hotter (it was actually cold).
Frühstück war ok
Frühstück war zu teuer fürs das Angebot!
A beautiful little hideaway with pool, gazebo and sitting room, minutes from many restaurants and coffee shops. Very friendly staff. We did not eat breakfast on site as it was too pricey. Cocktail lounge is great (with poolside service!) but was only open a couple hours in the afternoon. The Lagavulin room was pretty, clean and comfortable, especially the large washroom with glass shower and freestanding bath. Full minibar and snackbar available (at extra cost) and free Nespresso coffee. Only disappointments were that the bed was too soft and pillows too fat (hard to sleep soundly), and no staff was available to serve specialty coffees in the morning (unless you purchase the whole breakfast service ahead of time). Freight trains also run past the estate in the late evening, but it didn’t bother us much on our side of the house.
Breakfast was great
I really didn’t appreciate being bombarded with something like 8 emails and texts and notifications about everything.
The bar closed at 6. On a Saturday night!
Everything in the room was also for sale: sheets, towels, soap, etc.
Strange!
