The George Hotel

There was no heating on in the hotel & my room was freezing. I expect a warm & comfy room especially as I've a health condition that requires it.

Friendly staff, great food, clean room except shower. Very mouldy mastic.

The hotel accommodation was excellent. Car park was cross the road from the hotel. They had excellent vegetarian selection as I am vegetarian.

Loud music from downstairs. No good quality red wine

Staff were very attentive from bookjng in until leaving. We stayed in the queen matilda room and we also had a balcony. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Parking overnight was tricky ! There is no hotel car park except 2 disabled spots. You can park over the road, overnight on the Severn valley railway car park if you can find a space otherwise you can park on the overspill car park but have to move your car to the road front car park to park overnight !
There was entertainment at the hotel. We enjoyed watching the band playing and the sun was shining. The 2 young girls cleaning and waiting on were fabulous and very hard working.

This was a late booking which was cheap and cheerful. Staff were friendly and the hotel clean. However, the hotel is a bit tired and could do with some love and investment in the common areas. The shower was good, but the grouting is mouldy and needs replacing. The pub sign should be restored and the awful sticky platic signs removed. Lastly, the breakfast 'sandwich' wasn't great and perhaps more thought given to the quality and presentation. This could be a great little place with some vision.

We stayed overnight and it was fine, very happy with the accommodation - maybe the traffic was a bit noisy, but this is hardly their fault. They do excellent curries and the full English breakfast was first-rate.

Very helpful staff. Always smiling and happy to help in anyway they can. Food is amazing.
Car park opposite for £4.00 per day. Close to the high town. Hotel in low town.

Just okay - needed a bed for myself and 2 friends to come down for a wedding, and it did the job.
The service was a little strange, a bit poor really. Arrived and the welcome was as if we were an inconvenience.

We were asked to pre-order our breakfasts for both days and what times when we arrived. 2 of us said vegetarian - on the second morning "we have no vegetarian". What was the point of asking us 2 days in advance if you are not going to make sure you are properly supplied. Quite poor really.

The room was not very clean, and when we arrived the toilet didn't flush. The woman just pointed at the toilet and said "sorry" (no extra info) - I had to clarify a plumber was actually on their way that day! Didn't get fixed until 7pm ish. Not good. The place looked like it had never had a deep clean. Set in water marks on the shower, dirt around the toilet seat, hair and dirt in the sink, extremely marked kitchen sink in the suite.

The bed itself was actually okay. As I said, it did the job fine as we didn't spend much time in the room, but plenty of room for improvement. Cheap in comparison, but still a chunk of money for what you actually get.
