Clean and spacious. It's unclear on the website, but check in for this property is next door at the hotel and there was someone at the desk all night.

Pros:

The pool on the residence side is not cleaned and it’s chipping all over. The pool deck area was also not clean. The room did not have wash rags nor blow dryer. No tv in the living room areas just a plain wall. The ad said “water” view but fails to say it’s only visible from a tiny corner of the balcony. The area is not safe and it’s actually listed on the US Embassy heat map for being high crime. All the homes have bob wire around their entrances and windows in addition to the barricades. You feel like you can’t leave the hotel. Highlight is the restaurant and bar.

Expedia should never have listed this place. It is in a very unsafe area. The hotel was filthy and had a moldy smell to it. The pictures do NOT match the location. It is a total scam! Shame on Expedia.

Pros:

We were surprised at our room - this is a place we could live in. It has a beautiful view of the ocean and the tidal slough, it's quiet, it has a nice kitchen, and is laid out well. The restaurant was nice and the staff friendly. We had 2 pools to choose from, and took advantage of them every day. The grounds were very pretty and well-maintained. It was easy to get in and out and conventient to stores and sights in Puntarenas.

Pros:

Hotel was rated excellent on Hotels.com but real life experience is terrible. Hotel is not maintained, poor water was cloudy, facilities and rooms are not as in the pictures. Deceitful.

We initially had a problem with the plumbing in our apartment. We were eventually offered another which proved excellent. Top floor with great views.
