The cabin was a perfect size for my grandson and me. Bring slippers or sandals to wear around the cabin since they don’t seem to sweep. The cabin is definitely older and outdated but serves its purpose. It’s centrally located and feels safe. The heater wasn’t working and staff immediately helped me out. They were very kind and friendly.
The lighting wasn’t good and the couch beds were uncomfortable so we had to squeeze onto the king bed.
Location is very convenient. Parking was scarce. Staff was very helpful.
Pet- friendly
Overall, my stay at Sleepy Hollow Cabins and Hotel was okay. The staff were friendly, check-in and check-out were smooth, and parking was convenient. The location is great—Lake Gregory is within walking distance, and it’s close to Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear.
My main issue was that the room didn’t match the online photos. The pictures showed a cozy, country-style unit with a bedroom, kitchen, and living area for about $160 a night, but the actual room was very different. The “fully equipped kitchen” wasn’t functional—while the fridge and microwave worked, there was no usable stove, no proper utensils, and the drawers weren’t clean. I had planned to cook but couldn’t, which was disappointing.
Other concerns: the air conditioner was noisy and emitted a gas smell; the bathroom had good water pressure but the toilet was uncomfortably small; the sofa looked dirty so I had to cover it with sheets; the room smelled old; the TV barely worked; and the window view was trash bins—with even a fly inside the cabin.
I didn’t complain since no other rooms were available and chose to enjoy the lakes instead, but it was frustrating that the advertising felt misleading. The staff did their part well, but management should update photos and descriptions so guests know what to expect. For the price, I expected the room shown online.
Overall: staff, check-in/out, and parking were fine; location excellent. But the room and amenities need honesty in advertising.

Great customer servie
If you want proximity to the lake and the main part of crestline it’s perfect.
Everything was nice and clean. The staff was friendly
The man who works in the office was very nice and accommodating, but the hotel itself was disappointing. The water constantly drips out of the bathroom faucet, the water pressure is super hard and uncomfortable, the room wasn’t that clean, there’s no blow dryers.
This property offers a variety of options... rooms or cabins of various sizes. We stayed in a cabin. It was large and clean. Some may consider it rustic with the mismatched dishes and lumpy furniture. We liked that it was generally quiet and fairly comfortable. However, the jacuzzi could only be described as tepid, and in fact we saw children doing cannonballs into it and screaming, which was probably the only way to enjoy it at that point. And if you want a hot shower, you better be quick because although it started great, the temperature dropped too fast to get the conditioner out.
It was clean and very friendly staff, good little getaway
It spacious, and close to everything. I would def stay here again
Staff was friendly. It was an over night stay. Room served its purpose. I was great that one of the few bars up that way was right on the next block from the hotel.
Room smelled of cigarettes even though there were signs saying nonsmoking room and the heater didn’t work. They were able to provide a space heater for us. Furnishings were old and the kitchen was interesting. Definitely needs to be updated and cleaned to get the smell out.
I booked this place for it's location, price and cuz it states "pets stay free" as we were bringing my husband's service animal (not considered a "pet" under the Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA")) and my personal pet dog. Upon arrival, not only was the front desk clerk unfriendly, he asked how many people were staying in my room ("because you booked 1 king bed"). I thought that was strange since I already selected 2 occupants upon booking, plus it's not his business whether my guest and I sleep in 1 bed or 2. Then, when i asked for a 2nd room key for my husband, the clerk sighed like i was asking a difficult task. When we went to our room and noticed obvious signs saying "no pets" all over the property, I went back to ask the clerk if we were supposed to be in a dog-friendly room & somehow ended up in a 5-min back and forth go-nowhere conversation where he told me they charge $20/day extra for pets and I said their website says it's free and he said only if they're service animals and I said service animals are not pets, per the ADA. Anyway, i told him i won't pay the extra for my pet since their site says it's free. He finally gave in but that left a bad taste in my mouth. The property looked really cute and the room too (for a cheap place), but as soon as we entered we were bombarded w the stench of Pinesol & urine. Unfortunately, the urine smell didn't finally dissipate until around 3am after we left the AC on and had opened the window.
Nice to be able to walk to all establishments
1. Excellent TV and reception
2. comfortable bed
1. Terminally clogged sink. It never drained even a little.
2. Non working smoke alarm
3. Not cleaned behind things, ie: cups and creamers on floor behind the fridge.
4. Heavily chipped toilet seat. Looks horrible and filthy.
5. No toilet paper at all in bathroom.
6. Worn out and dirty futon
Outside of that it was a great stay.
Was more of a half way house I booked a hotel not a motel, people living there, because there homeless! Beds were worn out, holes in walls, Fixures out of place, sheets stained, I have pics. I want a full refund we did not stay, came home! Place was a complete scam.
Thank you for the stay! it was easy to check in and it was comfortable! easy to get around close to restaurants!
Thank you
The location of Sleepy Hollow is incredibly desirable. It is a short walk to the North Shore of the lake, but the condition of the property is deplorable. So much so that I decide to write a review.
The windows are new, but they don't have screens. It's a free-for-all the bugs that are naturally found in a woodsy area. This may even be a city code violation, if they ever came to check. There was dog feces on our balcony. The sofa was filthy. Many of the lightbulbs were out. The toilet clogged the first night we were there. The toilet was held in place with duct tape.
I don't believe it's an issue of cleanliness. It appeared to me that management has intentionally decided not to hire a maintenance professional. Rather, they have someone who responds to emergencies.
Then there's the price gauging. Their website says that if you stay for three nights, you can get free access to the lake. I called to inquire. They said that was an offer from the prior owner and that it is not something they currently offer. They said they had not updated the website in the three months they owned the place. I asked about making a reservation by phone and they quoted me an additional twenty-five per cent per night over the phone than what was advertised on their own website. That should have been the red flag not to book there, and we never will again.
