The reception staff were ok, friendly and doing their job. The room cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The corners of the rooms were very dusty and dirty, including the bathroom.
The kitchen was unuseable. There was no cutlery or crockery, or glasses, and the oven was covered in spilled food. The microwave was rusted out and unusable.
However the bed linen was clean and the twin beds were comfortable.
The TV was fixed high up on the wall, with not many stations to watch, and the chairs were very uncomfortable.
The shops were not near enough to walk to.
The parking was in front of the building so the vehicle was safe.
At the price point it is value for money. You get what you pay for. I would stay there again.
Very reasonably priced v. inflated costs of Travelodge and Premier Inn on Wednesday nights however not up to the same standards. You get what you pay for!!
Good
Room 109 is a good size and was clean.
Could do with a lamp or two.
TV was probably one of the best I’ve seen in a hotel room.
The worst hotel experience ever. Just a nightmare. We paid £109 for two nights, which is way more than in Travelodge, for example. And expected something more than just what Travelodge can offer. But what we received was a horror movie. It looked like a dirty shelter for homeless people - dirty bedding with blood stains and huge holes, someone's long hair everywhere (in our beds, first of all), even toilet paper roll was used and dirty. But the worst of it all was a mattress - impossible to sleep on, consisted only of springs, which should have been thrown away many years ago. After spending the first night on this instrument of torture, my ill mum simply couldn't get up and had horrible pains in her whole body. The second night destroyed her health even more. This is unheard of. We weren't just shamelessly robbed by this "hotel", we had to pay our money for our own torture!! SHAME ON YOU AND WE DEMAND OUR MONEY BACK!!!
FIRST IMPRESSIONS NOT GOOD THEN WENT DOWNHILL. RECEPTION REQUESTED A PHOTO ID BUT COULDN'T SAY WHY. NEVER BEEN ASKED BEFORE. FORTUNATELY MY WIFE HAD HER DRIVERS LICENSE WITH HER. WE DID GET ALLOCATED AN APARTMENT INSTEAD OF ROOM BUT FACILTIES WERE LIMITED. LESS THAN HALF A TOILET ROLL WAS LEFT IN THE BATHROOM
This property would have been fair if it was not for the fact that 50% of the guests accommodated were on the government scheme to shelter those living rough.
Had those tenants been quiet, not slamming doors, carrying on at all hours of the evening, and hanging around every doorway or sheltered area like creeps, it probably would have been a semi-normal budget stay.
Having said that, at least the place didn't smell of urine/faeces, and had a kettle and kitchenette within the room.
Positive: Lovely staff and location
Negative: Room cleanliness / smell of room was not pleasant.
Furniture consisted of literally a bed and bedside table - nothing else
Grubby
Broken window
TV remote not working
Very uncomfortable bed
Light by bed not working (no bulb)
This is not a hotel, it is a temporary accommodation building.
It should not be advertised as a hotel.
I believe everyone needs somewhere to live but do not advertise this as a hotel.
The staff are very helpful and friendly, thank you. It felt unsafe as many young people were standing in the car park/ entrance smoking and chatting. It was quite noisy during the early hours? Very limited facilities eg 1 cup each little Tea/coffee.
Great old house. Sadly during a heatwave, rooms were very hot. Otherwise great
Worst experience ever. The room was not cleaned properly. There was no shower at all..
Bed was not a double bed when said it was, wasn’t the cleanest of rooms. Needed work doing inside and out as very shabby. Towels were tiny.
No shower head. Not cleaned properly
Went to my room TV had no connection The carpets were dirty no curtains daylight at 4 o’clock in the morning shower was good but couldn’t use it because the door was locked and they couldn’t get anyone to unlock it so didn’t even have a toilet but I have four beds I could make a cup of tea, but didn’t bother Because I couldn’t get into the bathroom during the night. Plus Big damp patch on the ceiling heating didn’t work. I would like to give this property a 1 out of 10 but I don’t think I can. I’m gonna have to give it zero. I paid £90. I think it’s worth £5 The place was filthy when I rung up to complain all I got was we’re very sorry. The bathroom door did open after you left when the maintenance man arrived to repair it. I never complain but please please everybody do not Stay here one night was too long. I would like to go on and on and on, but I better stop.
Hotel is very basic but clean and tidy. Reception staff were very helpful. The only problem was they tried to charge extra money until i showed proof of the rate given by hotels.com
The hotel is run down and very basic. They give one pillow per bed, and wouldn’t give us a second one when asked for it. The towels are small, and the bathroom floor wasn’t clean. The shower head had black mould in the holes and the shower was really hot but not at all powerful. There was a fridge in the room which was cold. I booked a double and they gave me a twin-the beds were not joined together and were on castors which meant that my partner and I couldn’t really lay together without us falling into the gap. Overall, given it was cheap, it wasn’t awful, but not even giving two pillows on the bed or a hand towel for the bathroom meant it was a poor experience overall.
For £153 for 3 nights out wasn't great! Shower and bedding was clean but the whole place needs updating, cleaning, painting,.. Paint coming away from the shower, black mould in my room.. Not great..
