We returned to this hotel as it meets our needs, food is always good and staff always friendly and helpful
smell in the hallway .noise from extraction fan from outside back window.window handle fell off.bed was comfortable staff were ok
The hotel position is amazing. The hotel is one of the older hotels along this strip so a little tired here and there but this is to be expected. Good value for money. However the breakfast and service was not to our liking on the day unfortunately. Breakfast had definitely been over cooked. The bacon and hash browns were hard and beans were so over cooked no juice left. Plus we was sat next to another couple so close that we were touching elbows when we were both eating our breakfast and we could listen to each others conversations. We was very uncomfortable. They had just had a large party in but when we got there they had gone and there were other tables but we still got sat here. Told staff and reception but they didn't seem bothered, which was a shame.
It was a clean room no bells but a bit of noise from the lift
Beds were good and clean bathroom on the small size.
We were only looking for a bed for the night to visit friends, had good reviews and we can’t knock for the price £65 a night ex breakfast excellent.

Picture on website was not of the room. Thought there was a bath. There wasn't . Stock picture being used.
Not able to book breakfast the night before because of coach party. Restaurant full.
Window opened well.Good position for beach/town. Bit noisy late evening. Parking difficult in the area. Spaces were full and needed payment. Tiny lift and narrow stairs. Difficult for older people/
The hotel was in great location, right in the sea front. Walkable distance to the station, shops, Pier and Theatres. The staff were friendly and the check in was quick and easy
Extremely disappointed. It seems bookings through hotels.com get the worst rooms available ours was awful. Why do you allow this I won't be using hotels.com again. The room we had was supposed to be standard not even a basic one. I looked at other guests room which were much better and still apparently standard rooms
Friendly staff, clean hotel offering great food
Charming old hotel close to the beach being gradually upgraded. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Hotel seems to cater mainly for bus tours.
A lot of hotels in Eastbourne were built in 19th century or Victorian times & are listed buildings so are unable to be made ultra modern.
The hotel has an attractive entrance leading to the Reception in the welcoming lounge area. Check-in was swift/easy with friendly helpful staff. Room a standard twin on 3rd floor - not sure what the view was, just a building & some cars. It was clean/tidy with white crisp linen & towels. Tea/coffee milk & kettle. Hairdryer - useful desk fan. Just soap & shower gel supplied. Ceiling light was bright plus 2 wall lights. Wall tv with selection of channels. Wardrobe with a good supply of coat hangers. Dressing table with drawers and a bedside table with more drawers. A couple of negs..bed mattress was too firm for me and could only find 2 plug sockets - above the dressing table, so a bit of a juggle between kettle, fan and telephone charging :) Plus I was expecting a floor shower as per pics on booking site but we had a shower over the bath. Luckily not a problem - shower pressure was good, plenty of hot water over the 2 days we were there. We’d added English breakfast (if you book at hotel it’s £9.95pp - 8.30am to 9.30am) & waitress service. If you want egg bacon & tomato - make sure you state how many of each, otherwise it’ll be just one of each item.
A pleasant surprise was the singer/guitarist playing in the ballroom on Fri eve.
We loved coming back for a nighttime tipple which were good prices. All staff were welcoming & friendly.
The superior room was clean and tidy. Perfect for our one night stay.
Great location and fairly easy parking in the streets with good restaurants, pubs, etc. nearby. Very friendly greeting from reception. The room and public spaces were in good nick, wi-fi good (code from reception), but my bed was a little hard for my comfort.
Negative - A old style hotel, it is a bit quite aged and frankly it needs to be renovated.
Good thing - although the hotel hardware is not perfect, every staff like the receptionist, bar tender, waiters have been trying their best to provide the best service they could.
The property me and my partner stayed in was great lovely room and great staff ten out of ten 👍👍👍
Close to the beach. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Our room looked renovated and fresh. However we had no air conditioning in the room but had an air conditioning unit just outside our window that make an incredible noise 24/7. It was impossible to sleep with closed windows as it was boiling hot in the room or with open window and noise of air conditioner. Breakfast of medium quality. Well organised . I'd come here again if had a room away from the noisy air conditioning unit.
ideal for a one night stay.
Lovely stay here great staff and terrific evening entertainment.
Good location, bed was comfortable. All staff were courteous and helpful with any questions. Would highly recommend a stay here.
I needed somewhere for a one night stop before an early start for a nearby walking event. Haddon Hall is quite old fashioned, my room was basic but it was cheap and suited my needs so I've no complaints.
Erfüllt voll den 2-Stern Standard, älteres teirenoviertes Gebäude mit Flair, ca. 3,5 m hohen Zimmern, ergibt gutes Raumgefühl, das Personal ist sehr freundlich und bemüht.
