The Chapter Hotels - J Hyde Park

Das Zimmer war bei Ankunft sauber. Das Bad ist neu und bisher eines der schönsten, die wir in London hatten (fahren seit 18 Jahren nach London). Wir hatten auf Wunsch ein Zimmer im oberen Stock (70 Stufen 😅). Die jungen Männer am Empfang waren nett und hilfsbereit. Was ich aber zuerst für einen Textfehler hielt, war dann doch so. Keine Reinigung des Zimmers während unseres Aufenthalts! Für drei Nächte okay, aber länger hätte ich es ohne Reinigung auch nicht haben wollen. Die Abfallkörbe waren voll, das Toilettenpapier fast verbraucht. Wir hatten auch jede nur 1 Badetuch bekommen. Zudem war das Fenster kaputt und im Bad ging das Rollo zwar runter, aber nicht wieder hoch. Am zweiten Tag haben wir demonstrativ mit unserem Schild "Please make up the room" in die Flurkamera gewedelt. Da wir uns gedacht haben, es kommt niemand in den vierten Stock, um zu gucken, ob das Schild an der Türklinke hängt. Wir sind aber gleich davon ausgegangen, dass auch das ignoriert wird, und so war es dann auch. Das war in den 18 Jahren die erste Unterkunft, wo keinerlei Putzpersonal zu sehen war. Wie und wann dort die Zimmer gereinigt werden bei Gästewechsel – keine Ahnung! Für uns kommt diese Unterkunft leider nicht mehr in Frage.

Basic hotel but good area

Really comfortable, staff are great and understanding. Neighborhood is quiet. The only situation that I encountered is asking my taxi to get to the address. I was looking for the Chapters Hotels. When on the door shows as J HYDE PARK. Other than that, everything was great.

The front desk staff was lovely but rarely at the front desk because they also seem to do all the cleaning. We were on the 5th floor and getting up all the stairs was quite difficult as the stairs are narrow. Room was fine (beds were really comfy) but it’s smaller than a dorm. Bathroom was large and modern. It’s very quaint and the area is great.

Stay was ok, we needed to wait for someone to help us, the guy who checked us in was nice, came quickly once he answered the Ring doorbell. Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, when someone came to ‘check’ he said it was due to rain.. Noisy rooms, you can hear everything, doors opening and closing, all in all, the ‘less’ good reviews are true!

It was recently refurbished and looked good.Nice Area,beautiful houses,and a stroll to hyde park.

The location was close to underground stations.

Nous avions un carreau cassé (voir photo) dans notre chambre et il n’était pas possible d’ouvrir la fenêtre. Quand nous l’avons fait remarquer au réceptionniste il nous a rétorqué : “Et vous en pensez quoi ?” Comme s’il attendait que nous trouvions la solution.

À part ça, l’insonorisation est mauvaise : on entend tout ce qu’il se passe dans les couloirs et chambres voisines, la porte laissait passer la lumière du couloir allumée toute la nuit, et les joins de la douche étaient moisis (moisissure orange).

Il n’y avait personne à la réception (pourtant ouverte) lors du check-out et donc nous n’avons pas pu valider le rabais dont nous avions discuter avec le réceptionniste.

Même pour le prix nous ne pouvons pas recommander cet établissement de par son manque de propreté, de sérieux et de considération pour sa clientèle.

Initially nobody was answering the doorbell. We did arrive slightly earlier than scheduled but it would have been nice to have somebody or something to inform us what we could do.

We were then welcomed by a young man who wasn’t really suitable for front of house as the interaction was very minimal. We received a card for our door and a few instructions and off we went to our room.

The room itself was clean and tidy but so small. Sold as a double deluxe en-suite is a huge exaggeration. It was absolutely tiny, ok so it’s London, but our stay in NYC offered a larger room with a warning about size.

The en-suite bathroom was clean and the shower high enough for someone 6’3”, but the water temperature was not hot at all.

The TV didn’t work as it had no signal so we had to entertain ourselves with phones etc.

Facilities in the room were of a decent standard, although for such a small room, I’m not sure why it requires such a big phone on the side.

Ironing board, iron and hair dryer all came in handy but all in all, the hotel for the price was disappointing.

The view from 510 wasn’t good sadly, just roofs and back gardens.

La struttura è rinnovata, la camera piccola ma confortevole come il bagno che è dotato di una doccia spaziosa, con aria condizionata. Il personale è gentile. E’ ben ubicata perché vicina alla metropolitana di Bayswater e a negozi e ristoranti.

It was nice for the price

The only problem we found was the air con as we couldn’t find how to turn it off.So hence by morning it was absolutely freezing.But we weren’t there the next night as we only stayed one night but having spoken to the receptionist chap the morning we left he explained how to turn it off so if I was to stay there again which I might do next year it wouldn’t be a problem as overall I enjoyed the stay.

The room was very small and in the basement. Couldn't get the TV to work. Had to wait for someone to come to check us in. Most of the staff spoke very limited English.

The location is near Hyde park and good. There are some supermarkets and cafes in this area.
The room is tidy and spacious. Water and coffee are placed in the room.
However, the shower room is not so clean.

When we checked in only one of the two keys worked. This was not good as we needed them to reenter the property. We asked to get them rekeyed, but didn't didn't work. We stayed for 8 days and never saw a cleaning person..we ran out of clean towels and toilet paper (we had to buy our own). My husband ran down when he happened to see someone in the reception room and asked for towels.. they didn't have any clean bath towels and only gave him hand towels. Only one of the three windows to the room locked. There was long black hair throughout the room on the floors. The sink didn't drain right and there was no where to hang the towels. The door to the hall sticks badly (a real hazard if there were to be a fire) I wouldn't recommend staying here.

After seeing some of the reviews i wasnt expecting much especially as there were 3 adults and a child in one room. The room wasnt big but there was enough space for us to move around and as we were only in it at night to sleep it wasnt a problem. The room and bathroom were clean and had air condition, a telly, coffee machine, kettle and bottles of water and the beds were comfy enough. The staff were nice and helpful and for the price and being so close to hyde park, transportation, food places and shops it was perfect for us

Very nice hotel good location and staff where very friendly and helpful.

It was very good place new renovation, WiFi excellent!.. easy to navigate.
