If you need a break from the buzz of Madrid or just a chill stop on your way east, Hotel Ballestar is a great pick. Only an hour’s drive from the city, it’s peaceful and scenic — perfect for unwinding.

The rooms are spacious and comfy, with balconies and amazing sunset views. The whole place feels warm and welcoming, like a home away from home.

Close by, there’s the charming town of Tarancón and the Segóbriga Archaeological Park with its impressive Roman theater — definitely worth a visit.

The hotel’s restaurant serves tasty local food at good prices.

Pros:

From entering the reception area there was a stench of a toilet. Shower was dirty. I would definitely not suggest anyone stay here.
