We were only on an overnight stay but we found the staff very friendly and helpful. we would have liked to stay longer.
Nice quiet area gardens well laid out food lovely well cooked. Good service. Easy drive to buckfast abby ..
Stunning views.Garden terrace needs good sweep and out the front reception.lots of cigarette butts.shame not more staff in the evenings,as poor lady trying to serve meals and served in bar.Breakfast staff polite and helpful.Room nice size, but very dark, was on ground floor near reception, plus smelt a little doggy.for price though did what we asked.just could do with extra member of staff and a little repaint in places, bit worn.
Clean and comfortable
Breakfast service on the Fawlty Towers spectrum but tasty
Good location
While a little bit dated in places, the welcome was warm, the garden was fab for the kids, view amazing and breakfast was excellent
Great manager/owner. Great place. Great atmosphere given that we landed unexpectedly during the Folly Fest which was such fun. Amongst the best we’ve stayed at during a 15 nights trip. Sadly, let down by young bar staff, who couldn’t care less and wouldn’t help in any way despite us having to face road closures and no parking. 30 degrees and an unexpected march with baggage after we’d bern left to locate and pay for parking. Clearly disgruntled at hearing our disappointment, we then had to endure being deliberately kept waiting at the bar when ordering drinks while the girls continued their conversations. Thr subsequent overcharge was also predictable, .£7 for 1/2 pint of apple juice. Really?
Great place to stay. Lovely big room which was very clean with a comfortable bed.
Food was great for evening meal and the breakfast was also very good.
Will definitely return!!
My partner and I stayed here for an impromptu night over and wished we had stayed for longer now!
The staff were so friendly and the food was incredible, there was a real homely feel to the place and the grounds are stunning.
Easy parking too which is a plus. It’s only a 3 minute drive from a petrol station too.
We recommend:
- ordering the “ultimate burger”
- saving room after dinner for one of their ice cream sundaes
- ordering a local cider and sitting on the swing bench in the garden
