A roach was in the room and front desk suggested that we brought it in

The hotel is brand new so everything is really top-notch.
I spent very little time in the Hotel during the day due family needs in the local area.
The Hampton Inn was very nice, clean with helpful staff.
Im usually not someone to share negatives but this is needed. And if all of this is not read I will make it short. I will never stay at any Hampton Inn, or any of their franchisees ever again.
My bf and I accidently double booked a room. When i chat through Hotel.com they said they couldn't do anything because we already paid but they would call the hotel and ask. They said they called and the hotel refused a refund. I stood there at the front desk and no phone call ever came through. So i was lied to by hotels.com first.
When i spoke with the person at the front desk i couldnt even try to explain what happened without being told " sorry we cant its our policy". There was no sincerity behind it and in favt maybe there wasn't even a sorry. No matter what i said i kept bwing cut off and told its our policy. No eye contact no listening.
All it was, was finger pointing and neither party wanted to actually help, or even talk to one another. I never che ked into the room because well, i stayed in the other one since we accidently booked 2 rooms.
Now if either party responds to this poat im sure it will continue to be a finger pointing match. There will be no resolution, and definitely not a positive outcome.
I have always used hotels.com for EVERY trip and in the past they have even helped me in a similar situation and refunded me and it was not even on the sites fault. I will no longer be using hotels.com as well.

Nice new hotel. I am using a walker and the 2 lobby rugs were dangerous, and dirty.
I liked that it was a big, spacious and bright room. The room had a kitchen area and a round table. I did not like that there was only one chair for the table as we were a family of 6 (2 adults, 4 children).
Delightful stay, in town for a family wedding. Stay was enjoyable. Only thing that was a small nuisance was the bathroom door, along with the main entry door to our room had to be forcibly closed.
The property was very dog friendly and the room was amazingly clean
The hotel manager, Holly and her entire crew were very helpful and knowledgeable with every questions we asked. This is a top notch group that they have there in Port Clinton and we highly recommend them
I booked 2 rooms well in advance of our stay and requested adjoining rooms but was not accommodated. The mini refrigerators in both rooms didn't work and one of the main reasons we picked this hotel was the swimming pool. When we checked in we were told the pool was out of order. We wanted to sit outside in the eveing and were told the firepit would be turned on but it was broken. Many of the amenities that were advertised on the Hotels.com were not available. Very disappointing.
We were unable to stay at the hotel. When we arrived, we were told that the hotel was not open for business. The was clearly remodeling and/or construction in progress and we were not notified by the hotel or by Hotel.com about the situation. Thank goodness we were able to get another room for our stay. I was travelling with my three grandkids who are 16, 12 and 10 and we had just driven three hours for our vacation. This is by far, the worst experience we have had in our six years of these trips.
