The Chapter Hotels Camden Town

I think the hotel is perfectly fine for the price. I would have given in 5 stars - but - I saw the members of the staff put fresh towels on the dirty floor. It made me question the hygene standards here.
Other than that, no complaints.

There were no lamps in the room, just a harsh overhead light. Remarkably cheap furniture. Tiny showers with very low water pressure. The door to my room had a 2" gap between the bottom and the floor. The pictures on the site are extremely flattering. This place is a dump

Yes all good. Everything worked ok

My stay on 1st October was fine, and I had booked to come back the week after (8th-9th). However, at 18:25 on the day of check in, as I was heading from the office to the hotel, I received a notification that my hotel had been cancelled. When I spoke to the hotel they said they were full and didn’t have my reservation, and when I spoke to Hotels.com they informed me that the hotel had cancelled my reservation on the evening I was supposed to be checking in.

Disappointing as I would have happily stayed here again and again, but I can’t risk them cancelling my reservation at short notice so I will be avoiding Chapter Hotel Camden in future.

Check in was extremely hard, initially we could gain access to the property and we were informed by the receptionist that the buzzer on the door doesn’t work as it belonged to the old company. Thankfully a guest left the reception eventually meaning we could gain access. On check in we were given the wrong room and our second room booked under the same lead person caused issues due to it not being linked on the system. The whole check in process was an extremely frustrating process for something that is normally very simple and easy. Bathroom extractor fan was kicking out dust when using due to it not being cleaned.

Clean room, friendly staff, excellent Air conditioning, walkable to Camden town centre

The room was comfortable - the bed was nice, the room was warm, everything worked. The bathroom was a bit small, but functional. There was nowhere to hang clothes and there was no bedside light or any light other than the single overhead light. There was a lovely large desk in my room, but no chairs so I couldn't sit at the desk (or anywhere else except for on the bed).

Location is convenient. However, the hotel amenities urgently need to be updated on booking websites. A fridge was not in the room despite being advertised as included (according to desk staff this isn't something that they provide in any of the rooms). Complimentary water only available on first day and not replaced on subsequent days - not helpful when the tap water is "not suitable for drinking". Extractor fan in room was loud.

Great location, great room

Nice hotel in walking distance of the tube.
My only problem was having to enter a 7 digit code, followed by # every time you want to enter the hotel, and your room. It took 4 attempts on every occasion. Tech is supposed to be making things easier, but failing ! Please just issue door passes/cards.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The bed was up against a wall, so getting in and out was a bit awkward when sharing a bed. The bathroom was pretty tight for space and the toilet could have done with a good deep clean. The main problem was more to do with the noise outside as it felt like we were very close to A&E with sirens going off throughout much of the night, so earplugs are recommended for a good nights sleep.

Tiny room but provides everything needed. Clean place. Would definitely recommend for those looking for cheaper options near Camden area.

Appearance good, staff polite at first, once given the room we discovered that: there was no wardrobe, only 3 knobs screwed in the wall directly and 1 wooden hanger ( it looked like decoration, no functionality), later we were given 2 more hangers. NO shelf, ONLY 1 short hook in the bathroom, sticky surfaces, EXTREMELY noisy from all the possible sources (lobby, upper room, inner yard and street). COFFEE was available in the lobby only for 2 days. When the machine ceased functioning, the receptionist rudely told us it was not their responsibility. An electric kettle was in the room, half filled with water from previous guests. Upon arrival, we were advised that the tap water is not drinkable, there were 3 small bottles of water. When consumed we asked for more, but answered it was not their responsibility. There is a safe in the room but no one could open it, to be noted this was one of the reasons we chose the hotel. Not a comfortable stay, not to be recommended to other tourists, we will definitely not return.

Bathroom so small even a child can’t take a shower properly. Make sure you don’t stay in room 201 because the main door makes so much noise every time someone closes it. It wasn’t good. I’d rather just pay a little more and stay in a better place
