Great place, clean and tidy. Rooms are nice, the staff were great and helpful!
Great welcome, really nice decor, lots of choice in beer and food and the staff were great.
Cosy stylish hotel n pub. Friendly attentive staff.
I booked a deluxe-plus room but I think we may have been put in a deluxe room as we had no armchairs as shown in the deluxe-plus photos, and the furniture and decor wasn’t quite like the photos. We were also warned that there was still wet plaster on the wall when we got to our room, which wasn’t a massive problem but when I went to the bathroom there was lots of crumbly plaster all around the sink and the tap was splashed with it! I was surprised that it wasn’t cleaned up before we checked in. Nevertheless, it was still a nice, comfy stay and the mattress and pillow were probably the best we’ve ever had in a hotel. Unfortunately the metal bed frame squeaked really loudly with every single movement which wasn’t great at night! The staff were lovely though and very helpful, and the restaurant downstairs is really nice with a cosy country feel. The food was great too. It was also nice to have such a good selection of tea/coffee/hot chocolate in the room, and some free biscuits too! And the location was perfect - only a 2 minute walk to the pebbly beach, and there are 2 other pubs within a 1-minute walk! I would definitely stay here again.
Excellent
Really lovey stay great food and staff and lovely decor
Just a one night getaway - The Dolphin has been beautifully refurbished by Hall & Woodhouse creating a quality, warm and welcoming environment in all areas. Breakfast was excellent though we didnt have dinner here as we regularly dine at our local H&W hostelry where the menu is the same. Our bedroom, the 'comfy' option was perfect for a short stay though the larger room option may be slightly more suitable for a lengthier stay in terms of space. Hall & Woodhouse beers are fab - who couldn't drink a well-kept Fursty Ferret or Tanglefoot?⁰
Staff very friendly
Have stayed here previously. This time we upgraded from a Comfy Double to a Deluxe. The room was much more of an upgrade, the decore and finishings were top notch. Very comfortable.
Great hotel, comfy beds, ample parking. Great food
Yes
Had a wonderful stay in the refurbished hotel. Had the most comfortable nights sleep, so much so that we are looking to buy the mattresses they use.
The comfy double was just what we needed. The bathroom didn't look to be refurbished but was fine as it was apart from a leaky shower hose. We were supplied with plenty of drinks to choose from and 2 packets of biscuits.
Breakfast was fantastic with plenty of choice from the buffet table including home made granola and fresh honey dripping from the honeycomb. There was also plenty of choice from the menu for got food, this was all cooked to order and very tasty.
Thanks for a great stay, we will be back.
Great location, small but comfy room with lovely mattress on the bed, friendly staff and good choice of breakfast items (continental and cooked). We were able to check in early as our rooms were ready and there was plenty of parking in the hotel car park (out of season). The only negative was the soundproofing between rooms - we could hear the entire phone conversation from the man next door and throughout the night, could hear bathroom fans running.
