We were delighted to return to this truly unique gem! Tom, the manager, and his team are very warm and thoughtful. Tom made us feel special and very welcome as he greeted us by name. If you are seeking a true getaway to unwind and relax, this is the place! We now think of Madeira House as our coastal ‘home away from home!’ Thank you Tom!

Pros:

Beautiful in every way. Warm welcome from Tom, - thank you! Easy check in / check out. So many thoughtful touches in the suite; lovely art, dishes and glassware, -nothing generic and cold here. Great mix of antiques with new pieces; the decor is very warm and inviting. Soft towels and cozy lighting. We can’t wait to stay here again! The location is spectacular and the views took our breath way. Five stars for sure.

Pros:

Stunning property, cozy room, and incredible views! Jenner is a sleepy town, and it’s even quieter during “winter hours.” Pack food and drinks, and you’ll be all set!

Pros:

We loved the views, location and accommodation for pets.
I would recommend the fire alarm being mounted in a different location as it went off due to steam from the shower.

Pros:

Everything was good! Really need a front door blind on Wildflower unit. It is close to the road and foot traffic but the noise isn’t bad. Maybe a white noise machine for those whom may have an issue Great views!!!

Pros:

I tried this hotel based on their feature in Travel + Leisure -- but to be honest it is a over-marketed.

The good: most of the balcony rooms have riverfront views. As there were no balcony rooms available for our dates, we opted for the Laurel room as it was advertised as having river views. Unfortunately this really was a river-to-the-side-of-the-window-view that was mostly obscured by trees and the property next door, and it was along the walkway to the next room, so we had to keep our curtains closed most of the time. I woke up in the morning and jumped at finding someone standing right outside our window. I wish the hotel was more upfront about this, as had we known this, we would have booked for another room at another date.

The rooms are freshly painted and decorated, but still seem to be the old ones from when it was another inn.

Rooms were clean, although I did need to clean the coffee cup as I found a sticky ring of coffee inside -- a small detail that is a major miss for any place in the hospitality business.

The "Redwood Social" was locked and dark the entire stay, and I did not see any staff during our entire stay except at checkout.

Would I stay here again? Yes, if I wanted the riverfront views -- but also lowering my expectations that this wouldn't be the boutique hotel-type stay being advertised, but more akin to a mid-range Airbnb-type experience.

Pros:

This location is perfect for a quiet, relaxing getaway. The location is absolutely beautiful. The property has plenty of small intimate areas where you can sit and enjoy the Russian river. Walk to Cafe Aquatica coffee shop, Tasting by the Sea wine bar or Jenner Sea Store for all you need for a low key weekend. We only stayed for one night on our way North but plan to make Maderia a destination.
Check in is easy and the rooms are very comfortable.
