This was remarkable, newly opened, very clean and good value. Staff were friendly and accomodating. My girlfriend had unfortunately lost her medication and an emergency prescription wasn't available unless she were to stay in the psyciatric hospital which I didn't want to deal with. The staff were helpful getting her loaded in the trunk of my car, asked no questions despite her being hogtied and mouth duct taped, it made the trip to Sarnia more enjoyable that I could barely hear her in the trunk, and was able to drop her off at her mothers house in Sarnia within 2 and a half hours. 10/10
We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Riu Plaza Toronto.I found the room to be very small. The staff are very friendly and helpful
Great hotel, the location excellent very good breakfast good staff
Staff were especially kind and helpful. Good location, we didn’t have a car so can’t speak to parking. Rooms were a nice size and clean. Breakfast included a lot of options, which was great. My only issue was sound: you can hear every door on your side of the floor open and close very clearly. If you’re a light sleeper, it might be an issue.
The hotel has everything you need to stay a few days in Toronto for business. And while it seems to have been renovated and upgraded in its decor recently, it feels a bit cold… for example no music in the breakfast area, rooms feel a bit sterile. other than the breakfast area, the common areas feel small (lobby and gym for example). Other than that it’s a good choice for business travel. Breakfast buffet has a lot of options and staff is very very friendly
The hotel right in downtown of toronto. Every good experience. location is excellent. Price is excellent compare to others that close by. Breakfast is good.
The hotel is a bit backwards. It seems that there were too many staff in the lobby at the expense of room amenities. The bathroom was not cleaned propley (hair in Shower and i could easily read the message that the last guest left on the shower glass). We received free breakfast but had to pay for wifi which really should be the opposite way around.
The hospitality was absolutely wonderful
Just an amazing stay from beginning to end. Top notch managers that are discreetly aware of needs. Great drinks and food to be found in close proximity. An Uber will take you to many many breweries. We will be back. Much success to them
New and clean, friendly staff
Nice new property!!!
Our early checkin by Laurec was smooth and seamless. Thank you to the Hotel Riu staff for making our first stay memorable! Decorations for Halloween were awesome.
Nice, new, clean, modern all staff were friendly and attentive.
Great location, easy walk to the CN Tower, Aquarium and Rogers Stadium.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Riu Plaza in Toronto. The staff was very hospitable and welcoming, rooms were clean and breakfast was delicious with many options. The only setback was being woken up at 2:10am from a worker drilling and then hammering on a wall outside our room. We still do not know what work was being completed at that time of night but it was quite unfortunate at the time.
The location was very central. The room was well equipped including double sinks, large shower, desk, fridge, coffee machine, lots of hangers, iron etc. The room had a couple oddities; the toilet (with no sink) and the bathroom (sink and shower) were on opposite sides of the room, so handwashing was awkward, the TV instructions were in Spanish, the distance between the bed and windows was tight. Staff were excellent, very friendly, lobby had a good amount of seating and all-day cafe, the gym was a good size and well stocked.
Check in was slow
Pros: brand new hotel, clean and modern decor. Very quiet. The staff was super helpful and so friendly. The free breakfast we hot and well stocked. The toilet is in a separate room than the shower and sink. That was cool for more than one person in the room.
Cons: There are a few things that could be improved. The stairwell comes in from outside. We had to leave the lobby and go outside but the door was locked. We had to wait again for staff to go in around and open the door. As well, there are a couple small features in the room that need to be corrected: leaky shower door, no lock on bathroom, our main door didn’t close tightly and needed to be pulled after the weighted door came to or it wouldn’t actually lock, we only discovered that after leaving the room and coming back- we entered without the key.
Overall, a great property and good value for a downtown Toronto hotel.
Upon arrival, we found the room dirty and a large hairball in the bathroom. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering multiple options. Hotel staff, including bellhops, were helpful and professional.
One of the best downtown hotels!
