Multiple reviewers described the room as 'lovely' and 'clean', though one report noted a visible crack on the wall; overall slightly positive cleanliness impressions.
Service
1
Mixed service: manager described as 'lovely' and guests received a warm welcome, but there were inconsistencies (bar staff refusal, check-in confusion); overall leans positive due to helpful manager and initial welcome.
Location
1
Standard quality for this hotel tier.
Room Quality
1
Rooms were called 'great' and 'lovely' by guests, but issues reported include a crack in the wall, a very noisy shower and a cold room; net slightly positive due to repeated praise for the room itself.
Amenities
1
Notable amenity problems: no hot water in shower or main taps, extremely noisy shower; amenities sentiment is negative.
Value for Money
1
Guests reported paying in full (example: £182 for 2 nights) yet receiving no breakfast/compensation and being asked to pay extra to check in early — poor value for money.
Food and Beverage
1
Mixed: one reviewer praised 'good food' but others received no breakfast on both days despite booking; overall slightly negative due to missing promised meals.
Overall Experience
1
Mixed but leaning positive for some guests due to friendly manager, warm welcome and good rooms; offsetting negative operational issues (no breakfast, hot-water problems, check-in delays) lead to a tempered overall positive rating.

Pros:

What a mess this hotel is got there couldn’t find my booking for around half and hr standing waiting after having a 4.1/2 hr drive to it . Wanted 20 pound to check in before time just to change as was going to a funeral . Eventually found the booking but no breakfast said the chief was not there ? Well I booked room and food . So no breakfast ! Both days I stayed also shower only had cold water no hot and the most noisiest shower ever like a kango drill . Also no hot water in main taps only cold . Big crack down the wall along the ceiling also . And the room was freezing . Would defo never go back to this hotel , also had another family member stay the night before I got there and they also didn’t get breakfast so hotel gave them 10 pound back each , I got nothing 182 pound for 2 nights no food . What a rip off . Avoid this hotel !!

Friendly staff but disappointed.
Pros:

Located next to good amenities and town centre, but quite busy road to front so can be quite noisy via windows day and night.
Bed was clean and crisp, but bath and sink had hairs from previous guest.
Car park to rear with 10/12 spaces.
Lots of floor boards creaked.

Rude proprietor
Pros:

We ate at hotel evening meal and sent my wife’s food back fish and chips was awful the proprietor came out and was very rude and insisted he never had a complaint before eventually he said he would deduct 50% off the 1 meal
We then went downstairs for breakfast at 9 am and no staff in attendance then 2pish guys contractors who were residents turned up and said it was normal at breakfast time 😡 we went into the town but nothing open for good came back at 9.45 and the chaps said a chef had turned up and to be fair served up a decent full English
