Clean, friendly staff I wish the rooms had more windows with lovely views of the neighborhood. The restaurant bar is great and breakfast was wonderful everyday. I will be back. The front desk personnel was so pleasant.
No hot water the door don’t lock
The room was spotless and staff was courteous
Staff was excellent. Checked me in despite having a problem locating my reservation on Expedia. However, the room was terrible. AC blowing hot air at 16 degree turbo fan setting. No hot or even warm water after running the shower for a while. A roach strolling across the bathroom floor. That's three strikes and Im out.
There is a major problem at this hotel; the water that flows through the faucet and is brown colored causing me and my entire family getting sick “ diarrhea and fever the water from the shower had our skin smelling like rust.
My stay was 6 days of hell at this hotel.
The food they have as complimentary was awful no flavor and always served cool who eats a cool breakfast.
As much as room service was always attentive the water problem caused me more than my accommodation with hospital bills over one million dollars seeing doctors and getting medication from the Ballwan Singh Hospital.
I will not recommend this hotel.
The room was clean and comfortable the only thing is that they need to have a safe so visitors can secure their personal things, everything thing else is very good
The room doors had issues. Did not safely looked properly. The very first day, the breakfast was very late. On two occasions the water to flush the toilet wasn’t running. There was no supervisor/manager you could have spoken to regarding any issues. The hotel lacked garbage bins. A lot of fine ants crawling in the bathroom. The rooms had no means of communicating with the front desk if you had to. The closets in the room are not properly installed. In the middle of one night, i couldn’t gain entry in the room because the key couldn’t open the door. I had to be relocated. Idon’t think i had my money’s worth and i am seeking compensation in some way possible.
Thanks,
Devendra Sewdat
Yes shops nearby. No spa?
In general hotel is fine however, there is more to be done since hotel is new eg security lock from inside, proper maintenance (toilet tank float keep getting stuck after a few flush)water discolored (red) when open taps or flush, room cleaning only by request, rooms need microwave and hair dryer.rooms very spacious
Great location!
Polite staff. Pool , dining
There is no toilet brush at bathroom, for 200 usd for a night i will expect for breakfast normal coffee - not instant. And a buffet , not just 3 options with fake bacon. And better avoid eating dinner there.
I understand this is a new hotel, but it clearly wasn’t ready to open. Let me preface this by saying I’ve stayed in worse hotels in the U.S., but this experience was still incredibly disappointing because I had high hopes for them.
On day one, several rooms were flooded because of poor plumbing. The rooms themselves were very basic — only two towels, no trash bins, no toiletries (thankfully, I brought my own), and a TV that didn’t work. Tables were left dirty overnight, and dishes and beer bottles sat around the pool area well into the next morning. It seems no one cleans up in the evenings.
The tiled floors are a serious safety hazard. I nearly slipped every time I entered the bathroom and saw another guest’s child get hurt after slipping in the bathroom. You can even see grout residue poorly wiped across the walls. The bed had sand or something grimy. We had to redo the bed. The walls had layers of construction dust.
I genuinely want this hotel to succeed, but it doesn’t seem like management/owners are open to feedback or complaints. They need experienced hospitality management to show them the ropes, and they should seriously reconsider their contractors and possibly find new ones to fix the many mistakes and hazards that are still present.
I must also add that staff were great and I honestly did not want to make any complaints to them because it seemed like they were trying their best.
I hope they get better with time.
Excellent hotel. Amazing staff. Nice Guyanese food.
There was no spa. Only one pool. Half of a shower door. Shower had hair in it. Had to change rooms. No cable television. No telephone in room. No microwave to warm food. No refrigerator in room. High lip on door entry, creating an accident waiting to happen. In my over 25 years of traveling, I have never stayed at a hotel that stated many attractive amenities and did not meet what they advertised. If you ordered something from the bar or kitchen, you had to pay for it right then and there. No charging to room. No elevator to top floors. I just highlighted the really terrible/horrible things that I pinpointed. Expedia and other travel companies should scratch this one off their list. Buyer Beware!!! Expedia, I will be looking for a full refund, as we had to change to another hotel. The pictures advertised looked great (were they photo shopped)! Shame, shame, shame on all of the travel sites who list this hotel as having all of these great things, however when you start peeling back the layers, it smells and looks like a rotten apple that has been sprayed over to look good. Shame on the owners of the Crown Hotel. We were looking towards a comfortable stay, the spa, the pool, etc. What we got was a bags of hard rocks, and they weren’t colorful ones either. We did a exit, stage right to try and salvage what we could!!!!!
Very clean, staff very welcoming. A few minor teething issues as only opened last month. Overall very good value for money. Perfect location for travel over bridge to Essequibo
