Good quiet location
Pros:

The apartment was in a good quiet location close to the trains stations and shops and restaurants.

Cons:

The narrow stairs were problematic with suitcases and there wasn't any hanging space in the 3rd bedroom upstairs.
The lounge sofa was extremely small for 4 people with nowhere else to sit except for 4 stools.
There was nowhere to hang your wet towels or clothes to dry.
I was not able to see how the kitchen sink could be plugged to wash dishes.

Great House for 2 Couples. Easy Access to Food and Live Music.
Pros:

This house was perfect for 2 couples. Top floor has 2 bedrooms, middle floor has one toilet and the kitchen/living room, bottom floor has a bedroom with the shower/laundry area and another toilet. This arrangement can be hard to find in Japan so this is a great value.

The house is located about a 10 minute walk from the station entrance and the main route passes through a street filled with delicious places to eat. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful.

Hatagaya is home to many live music spots and is about a 25 minute journey to Shimokitazawa which gives you endless choice. If you're into the Tokyo underground music scene, this is a great place to stay for easy access.

Cons:

While the location is great for what you are getting, if you are hoping to do more central/east side Tokyo activities, the daily trek to and from the station and the train route could wear on you. If you're more focused on the west side though, it isn't really a downside.
