Managed by a private host
very clean and very nice staff, comfortable beds
Positives:
- Self check‑in was straightforward.
- Communication from the hosts was quick and helpful.
- Bathroom was a good size with a large shower.
We stayed for two nights and, while the hosts were responsive and helpful with parking arrangements, several aspects of the stay did not match the listing or our expectations.
there were several issues:
Room & Facilities:
- The studio is far smaller than the photos suggest. The wide‑angle images create a misleading impression of space.
- Being at ground level next to a busy road, the lack of privacy curtains meant we had to keep the main curtains closed throughout our stay.
- The kitchenette was not practical: the hob was a portable unit stored in a cupboard, and the microwave sat on top of a knee‑height fridge, making it awkward to use.
- Several listed amenities were missing on arrival, including the hairdryer and coffee/tea maker. We had to request the hairdryer despite it being advertised as included.
Comfort:
- The bed consisted of two singles pushed together, and the mattresses were uncomfortable.
- The toilet pan was loose and wobbled.
Noise:
This was the biggest issue.
Traffic noise continued late into the night, and other guests were coming and going loudly until around 4am — shouting, playing music, and slamming doors. With no staff presence visible and no soundproofing, it felt more like a hostel than a studio stay. This made it very difficult to sleep.
Overall:
The studio has potential, but the combination of noise, missing amenities, misleading room presentation, and comfort issues meant the stay wasn’t what we hoped for. Some straightforward improvements could make a big difference, but as it stands, we would not return.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, lots of cleaning going on no matter what time of day we got back.
It was very quiet at night
Easy check in and check out.
Super clean, easy check in and out. Lovely staff as well.
My mattress was way too worn and hard. This is why I gave it overall 9/10. If mattress was newer and more comfortable, it would have been a perfect 10/10.
Très propre et fonctionnel. Super lit. Très bonne adresse et super qualité
Everything
Nothing
Accommodation was lovely, comfy bed and great shower. Friendly and helpful host. Great location
Good location. Helpful staff
Location of room. Noisy as by front door. Needs better sound proofing.
Heating was too high for time of year
Location - near to Southsea main road and also Fratton was very good. Parking was good. Room was a decent size and the shower was decent. Large double bed comfy.
The room was quite crowded with a table and chairs, small fridge and microwave, sink unit bed, sidetables, wardrobe and, small dresser. The curtains weren't blackout and let light in quite a bit. For 2 guests we were given 2 small sized towels- a bath sheet would be better, or provide small hand/hair towels too. The toilet was very low and slightly unstable. We stayed on the ground floor and the door didn't feel very secure. The check in instructions should say it's the bright blue building!
Easy to find with free onsite parking. Room was a good size and good level of comfort
Not essential but no shower gel or shampoos
The location was good
The check in process wasn’t great and wasn’t told until I arrived that my room had to be changed due to a leak. It was incredibly noisy and could hear every footstep from the room above. Our room was next to the front door so woke up every time someone opened or closed the door. Also our window opened up onto the driveway so we could never get any light in and had to keep the curtains closed or we would have no privacy and everyone would be able to see in. The toilet was also broken and made a bang every-time you sat down.
The location was fantastic, right in the centre of where we wanted to visit on our trip.
For the price I paid, I couldn't fault it.
Great location within 30 min walk to historic Portsmouth Dockyards. The king room was clean, spacious and well stocked for the small space. Bathroom was perfect and beds were comfortable. Abhi our host met us at the door and was responsive to our needs including securing a parking space on site.
Would have loved a coffee machine as opposed to packs of instant. Small issue that did not detract from our overall satisfaction.
It was very clean, the owner was lovely and the room was just perfect! Couldn't have asked for anything better! When we had issues they were sorted straight away
The bed was a little firm for me but thats just personal preference
