Pros:

Location is wonderful

Cons:

Received a last minute phone call 2 days before our trip and was informed that we would not have access to pool and would have to go to a different location for one. Spa was also closed do to construction.

Cons:

Three requests for luggage to be bought to room and in the end my sons went and got it themselves from valet 90 mins later. This meant we couldn’t enjoy the pool in the one day we had here as by the time it came the pool was in the shade. Lovely hotel otherwise.

Do not hesitate to book this hotel!
Pros:

First time staying here. Location is great, and close to everything. The hotel staff were warm, inviting and accommodating, the property was absolutely beautiful and the entire hotel was spotless. The cleaning staff should be commended! BEAUTIFUL Hotel!!

Incredible Stay, Great Spa, Only Minor Issues
Pros:

The location is absolutely stellar, and the way that the hotel has been remodeled is incredible. The rooms are very tastefully designed, the spa experience was lovely, and the absolute best part was the dining. We had an incredible experience at high tide restaurant (if you go, try the Ramen!). The service is attentive, both restaurants (High and Low tide) are very tasty, and the rooms are beautiful. Definitely worth a go.

Cons:

There are a few things that should improve for the hotel to really be considered top-level. The rooms are noisy; between light and noise coming from the hallways and the outside service trucks it is impossible to sleep in. The valet is exorbitantly expensive. There are minor things that they are still figuring out, but overall, I think this is one of the best spots in Santa Cruz.

I liked how it was clean, stylish, and comfortable. family friendly environment was also excellent. the surrounding area felt safe. I loved that my kids enjoyed their stay and felt welcomed.

Cons:

valet parking was over priced in my opinion.

Beautiful, spacious rooms and attentive service
Pros:

The hospitality was the highlight of the stay. At check-in, we asked to switch from a king to a double. No problem, just a short wait for the room to turn. We went to the bar, and a few minutes later the receptionist came to find us with our keys. Our luggage was already in the room. That kind of follow-through is easy to take for granted when it happens, but you notice when it doesn't. The room and bathroom were both spacious, the in-room amenities were a nice touch, and the complimentary minibar felt genuinely generous. Not something you can say very often.

Cons:

The one area where the experience fell short was around a communication gap at check-in. The on-site restaurant was fully committed until 2pm — we later learned there was a local race event that weekend, though we're not certain that was the cause. A simple heads-up at check-in ("there's a big event this weekend, you may want to make a dining reservation or consider room service for your last morning") would have gone a long way. For a hotel at this level, that kind of proactive guest communication is what separates good from exceptional. A small miss in an otherwise lovely stay.
