Dirt, Bugs, and Dishonest, Terrible Staff

My stay at Thai Fight Hotel was one of the worst experiences I have ever had while traveling—and I travel a lot.

From the moment we checked in, it became clear that the room was in a shocking condition. Dirt was visible everywhere, the air conditioning emitted a strong, unpleasant smell of mold and dampness, and the entire room was infested with ants. Literally everywhere—on the floor, walls, furniture, and even in the bed. The conditions were completely unacceptable for staying.

The hotel staff is a separate issue—extremely unprofessional, rude, and dismissive toward guests. Instead of helping, they tried to brush us off and ignore the problem.
When we filed a complaint and informed them that we could not stay in such conditions and wanted to leave the hotel, our nightmare truly began. Two young receptionists attempted to mislead and manipulate us. They claimed we could receive a refund only if we canceled the reservation ourselves through Booking—which is not true. We have Genius Level 3 status and fully understand how the system works—if the guest cancels, there is no refund.

We were blatantly lied to multiple times. After contacting Booking, we were informed that the hotel manager had already sent an email regarding the cancellation. However, the receptionists continued to deny it—first claiming they had no access to email, then saying no message had arrived. The entire situation lasted over an hour and was full of manipulation and deliberate attempts to prevent us from resolving the issue.

We were forced to stay in the hotel—there was not even an option to change rooms that day. The only “action” taken by the staff was a superficial wipe-down and sealing a hole in the wall (where the ants were coming from) with silicone. It was absurd and completely ineffective.

We spent one night in conditions that fall far below any acceptable standard—surrounded by ants and dirt.

Pros:

- Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und die Poollandschaft schön
- Der Shuttle ins Zentrum von Lamai ist im Preis inkludiert

Cons:

- Der Straßenlärm war schrecklich, wie auf einer Autobahn bis spät in die Nacht. Die meisten Zimmer haben die Türe zur Straße hin. Zusätzlich macht die Klimaanlage alle 30 Sekunden laute Geräusche
- Die Klimaanlage kühlt mal und dann bläst sie nur die Luft herum. Außerdem ist die sie direkt über dem Waschbecken (welches im Schlafzimmer ist) und Spiegel angebracht und das Gebläse stört beim Fertigmachen aber ohne Klima wird es viel zu heiß
- Leider war der Strand jeden Tag voller Seegras und das Meer recht trüb aber das lag am Regen
- Unsere Bettlaken wurden nicht gewechselt obwohl sie schon recht schmutzig waren. Es gibt ein Schild dass man aufs Bett legen soll wenn man NICHT will dass die Laken gewechselt werden - sie werden aber offenbar auch nicht gewechselt wenn man es nicht drauf legt
- Wir wollten uns ein Auto ausborgen und fragten an der Rezeption für den nächsten Tag. Uns wurde versichert, dass wir am nächsten Morgen einfach nochmal kommen sollen und das Auto bekommen. Der Mitarbeiter am nächsten Tag wusste natürlich nichts davon und es war auch schon seit Tagen kein Auto mehr frei. Es gibt große Kommunikationsprobleme, da viele Mitarbeiter nicht gut englisch sprechen
- Frühstück war ok aber nicht viel Auswahl und keine frischen Säfte oder gutes Gebäck

it’s a bit to far from the main are but they do offer a free shuttle service. Although the last shuttle back is only 7.15pm.

Breakfast wasn’t the best, but ok.

Amazing Stay
Pros:

The staff were so friendly and very helpful , everywhere was clean and the pool/eating area was lovely

It's close to a busy road so on a night was a little bit loud but worth it for the stay you will have just take some earplugs

Ohne Bauarbeiten wäre es ein top Hotel

Gute Ausstattung sauber und nettes Personal. Muay Thai Lektion inbegriffen.

Cons:

Baustelle direkt vor dem Balkon. Dies führte zu Lärm und die Bauarbeiter auf den Dächern die direkt im Sichtfeld zum Zimmer sind, sind auch nicht gerade angenehm. Für Privatsphäre musste der Vorhang den ganzen Tag geschlossen sein und man sass somit im dunkeln.

Laufbänder im Gym könnten ersetzt werden alles über 9km/h schaffen sie nicht.

Buon soggiorno, colazione buona e con super panorama
Pros:

Struttura molto particolare e devo dire che mi è piaciuta. Palestra molto piccola ma funzionale, bello se si vuole provare la lotta. Colazione 10/10, non tantissime cose ma buone, uova strapazzate al momento e fatte perfette, forse la frutta avrebbe potuto essere meglio.

Cons:

La spiaggia dell’hotel non è il massimo, l’acqua non invita proprio a fare il bagno, c’è però una bella piscina.
La lontananza da un centro, noi avevamo lo scooter e non ci disturbava molto(anche se lo stradone in cui ci si immette è sempre bello trafficato)
Nota più dolente di tutte (al di fuori del cantiere che stanno facendo che però a noi non ha mai disturbato se non visivamente) è che la camera era “vicina” alla strada perché era su un ala esterna dell’hotel e quindi si sentivano tantissimo le macchine che passavano. Avevo prenotato questo hotel per il punteggio molto alto e per le recensioni molto buone e devo dire che è stato un buon soggiorno messo tutto su una bilancia ma dal punteggio che aveva mi sarei aspettato di più.

Pros:

We liked everything it was so great and the reception workers (we wanted to mention there names but we lost the ticket that we asked them with name) were so so nice and welcoming and smiling and the where willing to help with everything
