The room itself was nice, decently furnished. Ample tea and coffee. Very noisy though, could constantly hear other guests walking around and their doors slamming. The view of the river is a good location, but it’s a shame that the hotel doesn’t appear to be willing to invest in the comfort.
The “high speed WiFi” is actually a very slow borderline unusable connection. It struggled to load a simple webpage, which as I was trying to do work during my stay meant I couldn’t.
The “continental breakfast” consisted of a loaf of bread, a toaster, a bowl of 3 hard boiled eggs, some prepackaged croissants in plastic wrap, and a selection of cereals. There was more offerings of cake and yoghurts than anything breakfast related. Breakfast is breakfast but I’m not sure what continent they’re calling that! The same can be found in the Tesco bakery.
Had to find someone to both check in and check out, there was usually one member of staff operating both the restaurant and check in.
Also the lift was out of service which when carrying heavy bags meant walking up four flights of stairs.
Location and price
Breakfast was bad, pillows were bad
Breakfast was so poor, no spoons for cereals, no eggs available, perky coffee was appauling
Very scenic location but not easy to get to from my arrival in central Newcastle.
I would've preferred a cooked or hot buffet breakfast.
It was good value for money and Rob (a member of staff there) was very helpful.
Position of hotel.
Room was spacious and comfortable.
The staff were very helpful we had a problem with our original room and was them upgraded and changed rooms, which the view was then brilliant , the room was tidy and spacious.
The breakfast was rubbish and would defo not pay for it. just some bread, eggs ( that you had to cook yourself ) packaged pan au chocolates and some cheap little muffins, little boxes of cereal with milk that would've been left out since breakfast opened at 6:30, there was only 1 toaster and 1 microwave so when there was more people it became slow service.,
The shower was rubbish no pressure at all.
I went down at 9am had to ask for a cup then how to get coffee they filled up coffee machine with water and switched it on. No meat or cheese for this continental breakfast. Only toast left
The lack of a continental breakfast as advertised
The small table which all the appliances were on
Seems to be run on a shoe string
Rob was sound and helped when needed
Cold weather
Easy check in
No live TV no English breakfast .
No normal food in mornings ng no working bar
Staff friendly
Broken toilet, temperamental shower, water either far too hot or cold,
Bed linen very cheap
