Economical, clean, friendly hotel if you don’t mind a little walking
Pros:

Very economical, everything as listed online, exceptionally friendly staff even if using google translate was necessary.

Cons:

It is located in a residential neighborhood that yes is just a 12 min walk from the MRT and Rama IX mall, be warned. The neighborhood is pretty dark at night. I never felt particularly unsafe, but also I never came back later than 9:30 PM.

Its OK for some nights, but it waaay overpriced.
Pros:

Clean bedsheet and towels. Close to shopping mall

Cons:

Overpriced. This place should maximum be 800 baht.
No staff in reception. Need to communicate via booking.com app, and hotel mostly dont reply anyway, so basically left to yourself.

Booked a airport taxi via hotel. That taxi never arrived. So had to walk into the streets in the middle of the night to find a new. Came delayed to airport.

Short stay suited my needs. If i need to stay in Bangkok and have bussiness in this part of the city
Pros:

The location was good. I only stayed the 1 night.
The staff were excelent. They were very accomidating.
The only issue there was a little language problem. But i am in Thailand and english isnt their first language, so it is my problem not theirs. Room was not flash, but comfortable

Great Value Stay in Ratchada
Pros:

Clearly at the price it is not a 5 star hotel BUT it is a 5 star experience!
Helpful staff, spacious rooms, lots of facilities, powerful shower.
And about a 6 minute walk to the VFS offices in The Shoppes Rama 9 Huai Khwang.
And here is a tip for the shortest way to get to VFS if you are walking. Go to the end of the Soi Calmly is in, at the end turn right, stay on the right side of the road. After about 400 meters you will see traffic coming down a road on the left and turning into the road you are on. Stop for a minute, diagonally across the road is the building you want, locate a sign that says “parking”, cross the road to the road that contains the sign (watch out for the traffic from all directions). About 20 meters down this road is an entrance to Shoppes, go in, in front of you are escalators which will take you directly to the area where the various VFS offices are. Good luck with the Visa!

The location convenient for VFS Visa centre

Cons:

A tired, old, run down place. Looks like originally a house but cobbled together to form a hotel. No reception as such, although the staff member present tried her best to be helpful. Unnecessarily complicated system for checking in. Room very cramped. Worth only 600-700 THB per night.
