Overall, a fantastic stay—highly recommend.
Pros:

We had a wonderful stay here. The staff were warm, welcoming, and very helpful.

Great location—easy walking distance to the UNESCO heritage area, KOMTAR, Armenian Street, the jetties, and plenty of restaurants.

The room was well designed with lots of storage, including a walk-in robe. Nice touches like a dressing table with good lighting and power outlets. Spacious bathroom and lovely views of the city and heritage area.

Das Hotel ist neu und das Zimmer war schön und praktisch. Es beinhaltete eine kleine Küchenzeile, was bei längeren Aufenthalten super ist.

Cons:

Der Swimmingpool befindet sich auf dem Dach, wobei die Poolbar nicht im Betrieb war und auch schon länger ungenutzt aussah. Darüber hinaus war das Spa nicht in Betrieb. Dies wussten wir nicht, und auch eine Alternative wurde durch die Rezeption nicht aufgezeigt.
Das Frühstück ist auf die asiatischen Bedürfnisse ausgelegt. Langes Warten an den Kaffeautomaten und das Nachfüllen der Speisen war in Teilen langwierig.

Negativ zu nennen ist der Service an der Rezeption. Bereits am Anreisetag teilten wir mit, dass wir gern eine Nacht verlängern würden. Mit dem Anliegen wurden wir auf den Folgetag vertröstet und erneut vertagt … letztlich fragten wir am Vorabend der Abreise erneut nach. Der Mitarbeiter verwies uns allen Ernstes auf das Vermittlungsportal agoda.com. Nach der Buchung über das externe Portal lachte uns der Mitarbeiter an und meinte, dass die Preise auf der Website billiger seien. Da wir langjährige Booking.com-Kunden sind, buchten wir darüber.
Danke für nichts. Keine gute Art und Weise.
Bereits beim Check-in wurden wir nicht korrekt eingecheckt, sodass wir kurz nach Ankunft erneut an die Rezeption mussten. Dies geschah erneut bei der Verlängerung. Der Service als auch das Personal wirken improvisiert und unprofessionell. Schade. Das Hotel hat Potenzial.

Insgesamt buchten wir ein 5*-Hotel und erhielten ein 4*-Haus mit ausbaufähigem Service.

Excellent stay in Penang!
Pros:

Fantastic breakfast. Clean and spacious rooms. Friendly staff and an excellent location.

Cons:

The air conditioning was not working in the middle of the night, lucky they got the ceiling fan which we have to turn it on to survive the heat.
