book bigger size of the room
Pros:

The room is extremely small, but other than that, all good.

Cons:

room is way toooo small, especiallly for someone who wants to ski like us. We have TWO 32 inch suitcases and we cannot open it in the room. if we open it, we cannot pass the hallway

Good spot to stay as a base for Kiroro
Pros:

Great option when staying in Otaru. The location is fantastic—just steps from the waterfront & good spots to eat. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable, and the rooftop bar & onsen is a nice feature. The Otaru craft beer + edamame on happy hour was a nice touch.

Cons:

Only thing to mention is as Otaru becomes a bigger spot for skiers to stay would be an appointed ski storage. They were nice enough to store our stuff in the luggage room, but took some convincing.

We loved it so much we came back!
Pros:

The location! Loved being able to walk to so many different restaurants, as well as the shipping yard and tourist shopping street. Lawsons was across the road and it has views of the river. It was also so close to so many different ski resorts that we didn't have time to explore them all. I particularly loved the onsen, sauna and cold plunge after a long day snowboarding and we went to the wine bar every night after dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and views there. I think we tried everything on the menu and there was nothing we didn't like, although the choices were a little random. We also took advantage of the underground parking - although the car elevator situation was tight and sometimes you had to wait a while for staff or other guests, it was nice not having to dig our car out of the snow every morning. It would be reassuring if this could be booked ahead of time rather than first come first served. The rooms were spacious enough as we left our snowboard gear in the car and put the bags under the bed. We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast.
We had booked to stay one week here and one week at Furano, but when we got to Furano there was no snow so we gave up that accomodation and came back to Granbell - although the second time we didn't get the breakfast included.

Cons:

The hotel was brand new when we stayed and I think the staff were a little inexperienced- they were unsure how to assist with things like booking a massage, restaurant recommendations and bookings, or informing us about which nearby snow resorts offered night skiing on which days of the week. But they were friendly and helped as much as they could.
Hooks on the walls in the rooms to hang jackets etc would be very helpful, as would a second towel rail on the shower door so both towels could dry.
There is no dry room so people would leave their wet skis and snowboards in the carpeted hallway dripping on the brand new carpet and making a damp smell. There is a large entry hallway that I thought would be easily converted into a storage room for this bulky gear.

鬼コスパの宿。
Pros:

立地、清潔、綺麗、オシャレで大浴場もあり外風呂からのロケーションも素敵でした。
チェックインの時間も融通してくれて早く部屋に入れてくれたのもありがたかったです。

Cons:

値段を考えたらよくないところはないと思います。強いて言えば部屋にバスタブがないくらいです。
