Gorgeous property
We came too late in season, prefer more guests around.
It was a nice historical building with a very beautiful garden.
We came to visit Chichen Itza, but there was really no benefit in staying in this hotel. However, it's not walkable from here to the entry; you still have to go by car and pay for the parking ( top tip, drive to the very end and take private parking in wood just before seeing the main entrance gates, it's cheapest and closest ), you still go through 10 fake official parkings and get bothered to buy things. The next near town is only by car. We'd rather to go back to Valladolid on the evening of the visit and get better food options.
Vse top
The grounds were gorgeous and relaxing, the food was delicious, the staff was super friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, and it was the perfect stop for our road trip
Everything was pricey and there were a lot of mosquitos so make sure to come prepared
fabulous hotel and huge comfy room. Wonderful helpful and freindly staff who couldn't do enough for us.
We had the most wonderful stay at Mayaland near Chichen Itza. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel genuinely welcome, everyone was incredibly kind, attentive, and generous with their time.
Our room was spacious, comfortable, and full of character. The hotel has, of course, aged over time but reading about its history and its fabulous past guests, including Grace Kelly, adds a layer of magic that you simply don’t find in modern resorts. You truly feel part of something timeless.
One of the absolute highlights was the early morning visit to Chichen Itza. The quick drive with the hotel chauffeur at first light was perfect, we were able to explore the incredible site before the buses of tourists arrived. The fact that the hotel is actually located on the grounds of Chichen Itza , and that you can see some of the ruins from the property itself makes the entire experience even more special and immersive.
After exploring in the morning heat, returning to the hotel and diving into the pool was pure bliss. It was the perfect refreshing pause, peaceful, surrounded by lush greenery, and made even more magical by the beautiful peacocks wandering gracefully around the grounds.
And the food was absolutely delicious. We left feeling rested, inspired, and very grateful for such a warm and memorable stay. A truly unique place for anyone wanting to combine comfort, history, and an unforgettable visit to Chichen Itza.
With such an incredible location and history, a little renovation could help to give back a bit of its old glory to this beautiful building
Die Klimaanlage konnte nicht richtig bedient werden und aus diesem Grund war es extrem kalt. Man konnte es nicht ändern.
Located on a huge site with lovely gardens full of birds. Bungalows dot the gardens. We stayed in the main house with gave us a view of Chichen Itza. Also a spa bath (not used).
Easy Parking
decent breakfast
Friendly staff
Free shuttle to Chichen Itza from 7.45am
Eating breakfast and dinner outside
Room had bath and big shower
This is a sad place which is still thinking in terms of a COVID recovery. The place looks forlorn with 3 restaurants but only one open. Large spaces.
There was direct access to Chichen Itza from the garden but this now closed. All visits use the single entrance which needs a car or shuttle.
Room aircon feeble and noisy. Noise from the corridor as there are no windows just slats
No kettle or hot water.
Hotel con instalaciones modernas
Buena piscina. Facil acceso.
Buen parking
Personal muy atento y amable
Très bien situé. Seul bémol il n'y a pas d'ascenseur
I chose a room with an observatory view and it was excellent. Definitely would book that again.
The resort was calm and peaceful and I enjoyed the pool.
This hotel is a great choice to be at Chichen Itza early.
The dining room experience was somewhat strange. The food was typical and reasonable quality. I particularly liked the guacamole and fajitas which I found excellent. It’s the service by a few waiters that was weird. Meals had to be paid for and I used by card. The card machine didn’t have a space for a tip / propina. Normally in Mexico I’d leave 10 or 15% and in previous places so far in my tour of Mexico the servers were so gracious. The machines normally have 5,10,15,20 % options Here One of the waiters in particular was v aggressive by asking if I had cash. On one occasion I’d only a 500 peso note. In my mind i had intended to go to the reception afterwards and return with a tip but he was aggressive and brought me to someone. I felt intimidated and didn’t like it one bit. That particular morning I was waiting 20 minutes for a coffee and had to ask twice. I hate the US tipping culture and that’s another reason not to go there - it’s not the financial side it’s that people seem to be unnatural. But I’m in Mexico and I didn’t expect such aggression. I had wanted to say this to reception but couldn’t find the right opportunity.
Very welcoming and amazing hotel facilities
Mayaland is a special place stay when visiting Chichen Itza as we had a room with a balcony that overlooked the ruins observatory. The landscape is lush and grounds expansive. The pool was a delight and we enjoyed having drinks on the provided lounge chairs upon our return from the ruins. There were a number of dinner options at the restaurant and breakfast was incredible out on the patio in the morning. Easy parking for our rental car and the staff assisted us with our luggage to our room. My husband had visited Mayaland 40 years before and when informed - the staff prepared a lovely fruit platter for us to enjoy along with a sweet note and flower arrangement for our room. Very memorable!!
The gift shop wasn't open yet - would have purchased souvenirs from them.
