Great stay in elegant, understated hotel.
Pros:

The room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. The staff was attentive. Great choice of breakfast, either Japanese or western style. The baths in the basement floor are an excellent way to relax after a day of walking around.

Everything. The location was amazing, downtown so we walked everywhere.

The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming.

The room was amazing, superbly comfortable beds, sumptuous bedding, a great room to relax in after a long day sightseeing, and an amazing bathroom. Good coffee machine too. Amazing pyjamas and slippers provided and soft towels.

The breakfast was delicious, the à la carte dishes came out of the kitchen quickly even when it was super busy, and always good quality. My son said perhaps some pancakes would have been a good addition for kids 😅

The spa!!!!! I cannot recommend this enough. Incredible space to rejuvenate tired muscles after a long day. I was there minimum twice a day, in the morning after my workout and in the evening after a long day walking. Just stunning.

The gym! Lovely little space for working out, if you’re so inclined.

Cons:

Nothing! If I was to be super picky:

1. bigger coffee cups 🤣 at breakfast
2. Heavier dumbbells and/or kettlebells in the gym as the highest weight was 10KG.

Cute but not functional.
Pros:

The street was cute. And the outdoor bath was nice

Cons:

The room set up was very awkward. There was no room for luggage on the first floor and the bed took up the entire bedroom so it was impossible for 2 people to move around. Getting to the bathroom required a stepping stone. The stairs to the second floor were very steep and the room was not very comfortable. We switched hotels after the first night ( it was worth it even with losing $2000 per room - $4000 total )

Classe et detente
Pros:

L’espace dans la chambre et l’agencement style japonais mais avec des lits normaux. L’onsen avec sauna et bain froid. Assez bon restaurant. L’hôtel est neuf. Dans une rue calme mais très proche de commerce, du marché et du quartier de Poncho. bien connecté avec les gares.

Cons:

Tout étais très bien, peut-être ajouter deux chaises dans la chambre.

Outstanding rooms
Pros:

The rooms are just perfect - in all respects: design, lay out, used materials, size, comfort of the beds etc etc. A lot of attention to detail, just faultless. A very nice onsen completes the picture.

快適な旅になりました。ありがとうございました。
Pros:

駅からも徒歩で行ける距離で、便利な場所にありました。

部屋自体も広々していて清潔感がありました。

冷蔵庫には冷えたお水、お茶、サイダーがあり、無料でした。
しかも追加でも無料でもらえましたのでありがたがったです。

大浴場もサウナもとても綺麗でした。

スタッフの方も笑顔で気持ちの良い対応をしていただけました。
また泊まりたいです。

Nice hotel but very overrated and therefore not good value.
Pros:

The rooms are stylishly decorated and it’s a good location.

Cons:

There are lots of little details that are not attended to as a base level matter of course . The staff are superficially friendly but can be inflexible.

Gute Lage, Fußweg zum Bhf. Shijo ca. 10min, Gion ca 10-15min
Tolle große Zimmer, Mischung aus japanischer Stil & modern
Schöner Onsen mit Sauna im Untergeschoss
Tolles Frühstück, westlich und japanisch

Staff must speak English, change to dimmers or different lighting

Cons:

The most frustrating thing is that almost none of the staff speaks any English making all interactions extremely difficult, time consuming and ultimately exhausting:( It’s a truly surprising phenomenon that hotel staff barely speaks English when most of the tourists there are English speaking (even from countries whose native Laos other than English).
Another bothersome detail, at least for me, the bright harsh non-dimmable recessed lights in the room and bathroom - my eyes really suffered:(
