Muthu Glasgow River Hotel

The room was very much 'tired'. The windows are aluminium framed and single glazed, allowing a draught and noise to permeate. The bath is an original, as old as the building. It contains a shower with old controls with a flimsy shower curtain that's difficult to contain the water within when showering. The dining room has a problem with flies that could be easily cured with fly spray. The breakfast was reasonable but cofffee and tea is self served from an urn, so no choice of cappuccino, latte etc as in most establishments of this standing. The domestic staff aren't on the ball enough to clear away bottles and glasses that guests have left in the corridor (by the lifts) and they sat for two days of my stay, along with a piece of broken glass that was only dealt with on my request. The bar closes sharp at 2300 . I make these points as pointers for improvement and information for anyone potentially booking to be aware of.

Room stunk of weed
Floor was disgusting - shoes stuck to it - no way could you take shoes off
Window didn’t close properly so wind noise all night - ended up opening it - at least helped with the foul smell
Door had obviously been broken and unable to dead lock door !
Bath filthy
Kettle had a dark sticky surface on the bottom !
Place is a health trap and definitely not worth 98£

This hotel is promoted as a spa hotel with a dining room. Neither of which were open. There was only a buffet choice for food with small amount of options

Cold showers
Bathrooms weren’t clean
Noises of birds all night
Badly insulated windows

For this hotel it needs few basic things like phone in the room,fridge,safety locker and good entrance looks and surrounding of this hotel
Last minute change of plan for dinner without any advance notice and waiting for the slot in seating with limited staff(2 staff for both bar and canteen)
Get very limited option for the dinner even paid 25 pounds for the buffet dinner

Obiekt duży jednak stary i zdewastowany. Porozbijane szyby zasłonięte plakatami reklamowymi. Bardzo słabe śniadania - zawsze to samo, najniższym kosztem. Obiekt sprzedawany jako 4 gwiazdki w rzeczywistości o 2 by musiał walczyć. Nastawiony ewidentnie na obsługę tanich grup wycieczkowych dla seniorów, które taki standard zaakceptują. W recepcji tylko jedna i ta sama osoba przez 48h. Na pytanie o parking P&R w Glasgow - oświadcza że nie jeździ autem i nie wie.

Pool and gym closed - not made clear during booking process
Dinner buffet style - not as advertised
Swarmed by flies in the bar

We had dinner and paid £16 for what was clearly frozen microwaved lasagna. Later another guest told us he saw lots of rats running around outside the kitchen area. Someone on our floor was smoking marijuana that made the whole floor smell. Other guests were very noisy late at night.

Cleanliness OUTSIDE!
