Central location, pleasant staff and quiet!
Pros:

Loved that it was in the heart of Gion but very quiet.

Cons:

We stayed there for 6 nights and they didn't come to clean the place at all, so it started to get a little stinky. I think they should come to clean at least every 3 nights. The included breakfast was more or less non-existent. They only had bread and keurig style coffee.

A perfect hotel in Kyoto for tourists who want a central location but very quiet and comfortable.
Pros:

This is a wonderful hotel really close to the Gion area of Kyoto. There's plenty of bustle and activity within a few minutes walk, but the hotel itself is extremely quiet and relaxing. The staff were really helpful with sorting out laundry options and lots of extras are offered free in the hotel lobby.

Cons:

Nothing - all was perfect!

I really really like the location, it was closed from all the touristic places. The stuff is really nice. Breakfast is simple but free so I can’t complaint :)

Perfect for a short stay
Pros:

Quite central. Easy to walk around to main attractions and Gion neighbourhood. Friendly staff, clean room.

Cons:

We couldn't open the windows. Bathroom is very tiny. I guess that's to be expected in Japan.

Pros:

Location in Kyoto couldn't be beat. We were right near everything. Easy to get taxis if we wanted to go farther away. Room was maybe a little outdated, but our stay was enjoyable. Breakfast had drinks and a wide assortment of pastries/bread. Did the trick.

Beautiful historic building in Gion
Pros:

Beautiful historic building in the perfect location: right next to everything you could want in Gion, but not loud at all. Extremely clean and quite comfortable; the small private garden is a great touch.

Cons:

Since it is a historic building, there are some tight spots. The drainage in the bathroom was also a bit subpar.

Good location for a short stay in Kyoto
Pros:

The location was excellent, just off the famous Geisha street. It was close to everything yet lovely and quiet.

Cons:

The breakfast was very disapointing and the room was incredibly small. They do not offer a free room cleaning service and only change the linen if you are staying for 7 nights. Fresh towels are delivered to the door each day though. It was the only hotel that we stayed in whilst in Japan where the reception staff spoke little English.

Disappointing for the price. Expected a lot more for ¥52000 per night.
Pros:

Location was good, very central to most of the sites.

Cons:

Very basic compared to other hotels of the same price and not as advertised. Facilities were poor, room very small and uncomfortable. And cleaning of the room was an extra charge.
