Its near Archerfield where our event was
Facilities are date. Room was way too expensive. Basically zero staff presence. Breakfast was bang average. Curtains dont close properly. Windows dont lock. Tiny TV in the room is about a mile away from the bed. Room lay out was dreadful.
Room 4 in a shabby condition and cramped. Lounges and dining areas good. Cooked breakfast was good but needs fresh fruit added. Evening meal was limited. Standard of food is much lower than previous stays. Staff friendly but delivery haphazard, staff training would help. Immediate area attractive and proximity to Edinburgh and activities excellent. Problem areas - Poor room in poor condition ; coordination of delivery of food ; limited evening meal menu. Positives - staff friendliness ; Surrounding area, ease of transport, ambience of hotel ; activities in area.
Would we return for fifth time? Doubtful.
the room was spacious and the decor was excellent and although beside a bus rout it was extremely quiet the staff were fantastic a big shout out to ally great at her job friendly and helpful , and on checkout the girl the was very helpful with advice for any return trip. which we intend to do .
all good
Homely, although our room 1 was a bit tired
See above
Sauberkeit, gutes Essen , Parkplatz vorhanden , ruhige Lage
Sehr kleine, enge Zimmer, kaum Platz für Gepäck
The service was excellent and overall, just a nice place to stay.
Staff were excellent, requests were handled well and in good time, staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Particular praise for Nicole and Ali and the lady cleaning the room.
Breakfast service not quite as efficient as evening dinner service but still good
Posizione
Servizio scadente. Cassaforte inutilizzabile dal primo giorno e mai riparata. WI-FI in continua caduta.
Clean, location
Dated, no hot water, cramped room
It was just lovely old building. But bright and airy.
Nothing to not like
The front office staff, particularly Archie, were exceptional and did everything they could to help during our stay despite the issues with no hot water throughout our stay. Two complimentary meals were provided as a gesture of goodwill, which we appreciated.
However, we paid over €1000 for two nights but had no hot water in our room throughout the entire stay. The hotel provided access to a single downstairs shower shared among multiple guests, which meant waiting in hallways with towels. The boiler issue was known before our check-in, yet no proactive communication was provided to guests beforehand. There was a clear absence of management involvement, and compensation was not offered proactively but had to be negotiated. Other guests we spoke with shared similar frustrations. The situation was poorly handled overall.
Great location near the golf course and in a pretty village
There was no hot water, but as we were only staying one night we didn’t mention it
