Faded glory.
Pros:

The stunning view of the Union Buildings, central location and the size of the room and bathroom. Very nice decoration and old world ambience.

Cons:

Stayed in this hotel a few years ago when it was the Sheraton. It has certainly faded a bit. The lovely coffee shop has been closed and is now a bar. Signs of tiredness in the room's fixtures but overall still a unique hotel and certainly my go-to choice. Old world charm over slick modernness. Restaurant (and room service) sadly now has a very limited menu.

Airconditioning in 201 did not work properly
showerhead, telephone did not work in 203 and the pamflet to explain how to use everything in the room was missing
