A really old hotel in dire need of a makeover
Pros:

The building was secure. There was a nice restaurant around the corner from the hotel. There is an archery place in front of the hotel.

Cons:

The carpets in the room had stains of many different colors and shapes. The hot tub did not work. There was no “western” breakfast option. We were served a plant based breakfast suitable for Buddhist monks.

Disappointing stay
Pros:

Location was close to many Temples and shrines within walking distance. Plenty of shops and restaurants at your doorstep.
Very spacious suite with lots of room to move about. Complimentary drinks in fridge and tea/coffee facilities.

Cons:

Rooms felt very old and dated. Lighting was dark with not much natural light.
Although spacious, we did not feel comfortable. The rooms felt dusty and unpleasant with a musty odour.
Layout was awkward with the only bathroom and toilet within the main bedroom space and not in common areas.
The room we got were also different from the photos on the listing.

Overall we were very disappointed. We stayed for one night to experience the traditional areas around Gion, and changed our booking at the last minute to indulge in a little 5 star luxury, however this place is definitely not a 5 star hotel. Even the 3 star hotels we've stayed at prior felt more luxurious.

清掃があまり丁寧ではなく、床の上にごはんの小さなかたまりが落ちていたり、髪の毛がついたりしていて気持ち悪かった

A hidden jewel
Pros:

The room was the size of a small apartment, the bathroom was immense, equiped with the most modern bathroom gadgets the Japanese are renowned for, it even had a large wooden japanese bathtub. Perfect location next to a busy shopping and dining area and to important temples and parks. Strongly recommend.

Beautiful traditional room with special in-room traditional Japanese breakfast service.
Pros:

We wanted a traditional Japanese experience in Kyoto and the room was perfect. It had a tatami mat dining room attached to it where they served us traditional breakfast each morning. It was an amazing experience to try something new.

Cons:

It is right off a main street in Kyoto and sits within a wider shopping mall building but once you are on the hotel floor you honestly wouldn't know at all. It was very quiet and calm in the room.

Un paraíso en Gion!
Pros:

Todo. Tiene una ubicación excelente, es muy cómodo, amplio, con mucho espacio para guardar cosas y unas instalaciones muy bien equipadas. El personal también espacio muy atento.

Cons:

No es algo que no me haya gustado, pero hay que tener en cuenta que solo ofrecen desayuno japonés y para algunos occidentales puede suponer un problema.
