Great Service and Large Room. A Bit Out Dated but Comfortable
Pros:

The room itself was very spacious, which I really appreciated. The staff were excellent throughout our stay: friendly, helpful, and attentive. A special mention goes to Mary from housekeeping, who cleaned our room beautifully every day and surprised us with towel animals daily. This small touch made me smile.

Cons:

That said, the hotel does feel a bit dated. The overall look and feel shows that the property is getting older, and some things could definitely use an update. The water in the shower and sink is salt water, which might surprise you if you are not expecting it.

I traveled during low season, so the hotel felt quite empty with very few guests around. Unfortunately, the restaurant next to the pool was closed during my stay, which meant there was no option to order food or drinks by the pool, a bit of a pity because the pool area itself is nice.

A few other small downsides: the AC in the room was pretty loud, and the balcony was very small. There is also no direct ocean access from the property, although I already knew that when booking.

Overall, while the hotel may be showing its age, the excellent service made the stay pleasant. If you come here knowing what to expect, it can be a nice and comfortable place to stay.

Seen better days!
Pros:

Quick check in, room a good size and well equipped with AC, wifi, fridge, large bed, nice bathroom and patio area. Pool nice too. A nice property but in need of some TLC! Directly across the road from public beach with good swimming.

Cons:

The place is deserted, a little run down and has certainly seen better days. Another guest came out to say hello as she had not seen any other guests for a week! Restaurant/bar closed. I had read it was frequented by scuba divers but didnt see any evidence of that or any special faciities. Breakfast was included when I made the booking but was not offered until I pressed the issue at reception, when vouchers were given or a neighbouring cafe/restaurant. Unfortunately it was not open, so breakfast hours are incorrect and should be ignored. Not much in the immediate area other than a convenience store and a couple of more expensive beach restaurants. Also the TV did not work. There is a 'beach' area across the road but no facilities. Overall very glad we were only there for a night to check it out.

Pros:

If you're reading this review you'll see that I have also given prior reviews. I've been coming here annually for the past 6 - 7 years. It's a nice quiet hotel, great staff, about 3 kms from central Cozumel. There are restaurants nearby, or you can go into town, there is a shallow ocean front beach and pier just across the street.

Cons:

I've mentioned this before; the mattresses on the beds are getting tired. They sag in the middle and aren't the most comfortable. I know new mattresses would be a very big investment and understand why this is being postponed. Just be aware of this if you have a problem with this.

The VB is okay value and comfort but a one-stay experience.
Pros:

Villa Blanca Hotel is an older established hotel in Cozumel and appeared to be visited by dive club enthusiasts and Mexican families. Its grand setting in the beautifully kept gardens has 2 pools that are well maintained and my 2nd floor room offered a view of the ocean which made for a lovely outdoor perch. While the rooms are older in style the king bed, lounge area and bathrooms are very spacious. They offered bottled water refills at the front desk. No bugs or critters.

Cons:

The water was shut down for 2 days due to a plumbing problem. There was no venting/dehumidfication except for cold air-conditioning which made for a very damp room. All my clothing was wet when I packed to leave. The stairway to the 2nd floor smelled of musty sewage. Had to pay for the room lockbox. While adequate the male Mexican staff were not overly hospitable. The Maids were very sweet and thoughtful at their jobs.

Great little hotel, misled by booking.com
Pros:

We love Villablanca. We've stayed there before. We love the "old school hollywood" feel of the place and the ground are beautiful. We were completely aware when we're booked that this is a MUCH older hotel and it's age is very apparent. It is in need of a lot of repair. That's is part of it's charm for us. We'll always stay at Villablanca while in Cuzumel.

Cons:

Booking.com did a horrible job of presenting the Hotel on it's website/ap. When I came across Villablanca in the app I was completely excited to see that the restaurant was operational (it was not), the beach club was operational (it was not), that the facility had undergone some real renovations and things that were not available/ operational in the past, were now. We couldn't wait to see the changes. There was no breakfast, no spa, none of the things the app had advertised. While we were okay with that, that's the way it had always been at Villablanca, shame on you booking.com for total misrepresentation. Terrible service on your part

Every hotel has pros and cons but this one works great for us.
Pros:

I love the beautiful property, the office personal and the ladies who clean the rooms. Big spacious rooms and large showers.

Cons:

Pool could be a little more clean and less debris floating around and have the rinse tank clean AND with water for divers every day. Young men on the clock staring at their phones instead of working or even acknowledging guest is my biggest dislike.
