Passable but disappointing
Pros:

Lovely staff, so kind and helpful. Good breakfast.

Rooms very dated and decor needs a refresh. Lots of missing paint and chips, furniture not very nice.

Pool very full and lots of children diving etc which wasn’t very relaxing.

Lovely Hotel
Pros:

lovely hotel.

Cons:

restaurant staff not professional at all, really loud talking between themselves, using bad language within ear shot.
food was lukewarm due to a cold plate, advised staff , no apology just said she would tell the chef.
upgrade our room, not worth doing so, the room 122 was cold, took ages to warm up.
needed fresh milk as there was a fridge, not enough tea- coffee for our stay.
only 1 bottle of water for people ?

No customer service
Pros:

Never book this hotel, we booked a room in September 2025 and today they cancelled saying they are full. Won’t return calls with an explanation. Room was paid in full, absolutely disgusting 😡😡

Great
Pros:

The suites bathroom and bedroom very nice

Cons:

I just feel like the front area could be more modern in the suites with some new sofas to match the aesthetic of the room and bathroom but overall it’s very nice

OK for overnight stay
Pros:

ok for an overnight stay.
we ate in the Restaurant, food was mediocre, plate cold which made the food cold quicker.
advised staff but no feed back.
lots of staff working but quite loud when speaking to each other which is really annoying when you like quiet, not aware of their surroundings when on shift, we may have been the only ones in there but equally as important as 5 people.
bedroom comfortable , I paid for an upgrade...
no bath mat ?
only 1 bottle of water ?
fridge but no fresh milk ?
limited tea and coffee, not enough for overnight.
Reception staff great.

Pros:

From the minute we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff, a beautiful room and a complimentary drink which was a great touch. We had access to the pool and sauna, which were wonderful, and the pool was lovely and warm. Breakfast was another surprise with the wide selection to choose from. The bar was cosy, and the lush green gardens and pools surrounded the hotel. All this for a very reasonable price.

Cons:

Nothing, I loved everything. I would definitely return.

Spa Day
Pros:

I booked a Spa day for myself and my daughter for her birthday which included a 55 minute treatment, a 2 course lunch and use of the Spa.
We arrived at approx 9.15am and our treatment was booked in for 10.15am and the lunch at 13.30. The treatment itself was really lovely but mine was somewhat ruined by the constant banging that I found out was from the shooting range next to the Hotel. This did ruin the experience of the treatment as I couldn't fully relax with the continuous banging. Afterwards me and my daughter were a bit peckish and we went to the bar area. We were a bit disappointed that there was no food on offer and just had to order a hot drink. My daughter asked for a hot chocolate but were told she couldn't have one as the machine was broken. (this ended up not being true) at lunchtime we asked for hot chocolate and were brought 2 so that was odd. As there was not food we asked for our lunch slot to be changed to 12.30 which they agreed to with no problem. We were sat in the Conservatory part that was empty and cold and being in our robes we really felt the cold, the really pretty inside was also empty so I felt like we were kept outside because we were in our robes which didn't feel very nice. Must say we didn't ask to be sat inside so that's our fault I suppose. The pasta was a huge disappointment as it was really overcooked. The side of garlic bread which would have cost £5.50 as an extra was 1 slice of small bread cut on half. I complained to the waitress who said we not be charged for it. I have to say the staff were the positives of the experience. I feel like the building and the spa area could do with an update. There really should be water available in the pool area as there was a fountain but was out of order so we had to walk through the spa reception into the spa treatment area just for a cup of water which was a bit annoying. The day was pleasant enough but could have been so much better. If they are offering Spa days I really think they should have snacky food and hot drinks available all day. The fact that the food options included in the package wasn't a big selection, we should expect the food to be of a much higher quality its really not hard to cook pasta well. Although I found most of the Staff very friendly and helpful there were too many negatives for me to want to return.

Not built for “spa breaks”
Pros:

I wouldn’t really call it a spa, more a hotel and leisure centre. The spa was packed on the Saturday, with nowhere to sit or relax (only 5 loungers which were taken the entire time/chairs with towels hoarded on them). People were sitting on the tiled floor to sit down and we had to just dump our towels on the floor. Pool had plasters in, jacuzzi was very small and always full and sauna had lots of water on the floor so wasn’t very warm. Robes and slippers also weren’t provided, which you would expect to have in the hotel room on check in (£6 to hire) and padlocks/locked lockers weren’t provided (£5.99 to hire).
I was given the option of three spa treatments within the ‘golf and spa’ package, 2 included facial and body scrub/wrap and the third was a deep tissue massage. When I was in the room, I was told the deep tissue massage required a £16 upgrade (this wasn’t mentioned on the website or via email). My treatment was then cut 25 minutes short after I said I wasn’t having the facial, as I can’t have face treatments. After going to reception to explain that my treatment should have been 50 minutes, I was then offered an extra 25 mins legs and arms treatment, but this quite literally as I was halfway through getting changed in the changing room.
The spa waiting room was a normal room with sofas and beanbags and a cheap LED light and wasn’t very relaxing as the workers were rushing in and out so many times, slamming doors and disrupting the peacefulness as you could hear the reception loudly every time the door opened.
When originally trying to book the spa, the treatment time was changed three times, and when asking about changing the time or booking golf, we were told to call up and do this ourselves, which wasn’t very helpful.
The bedroom was a good size and bed was very large and comfy but a broken bath and plug hole with not the cleanest grout on the walls, similar to the standard of other reviews. Wi-Fi also didn’t work in the room.
Lunch at Hathaways pub was very nice and cosy and I enjoyed the steak pie for dinner but the chips with the burger at dinner were inedible, tasting more like McDonald’s fries.
Also, for a Saturday night, the bar area wasn’t the most lively/it felt a bit awkward to stay later than 9:30pm.
Breakfast buffet was nice and included everything but the coffee machine didn’t work.
Overall, certainly won’t be returning and the Belfry Hotel across the road has far better value for money. The best bit about the stay was frankly the nice walks in the surrounding area.
