Pros:

Staff were very friendly and helpful they couldn't do enough for us, room was cold so a portable heater was put into the room, breakfast was excellent, well cooked and a good quantity, fantastic location for town and museums.

Cons:

Room could do with some maintenance and a coat of paint, otherwise no faults at all

Perfect for what was needed.
Pros:

Great breakfast. Nice pub lounge. Iron & ironing board in the room.

Cons:

Room 25. Time for a bit of an upgrade. Very dated. Laughed at "Ye Olde" when really the room was just "old". Come on GK, spend £500 on updating the rooms...

Good location food and staff but getting a little shabby

Good central location. Disappointing room compared to other Green King hotels visited
Pros:

good central location. close to shops, restaurants.

Cons:

Have stayed in some lovely Green King hotels. unfortunately this was not one of them. Very tired decoration, small room. Was not good value compared to recent stays at other hotels where the rooms were much nicer and often included breakfast.

Great location, pot luck on the rooms.
Pros:

Great location, easy access in to room any time of night

Cons:

I have stayed here before in another room,which was fine.Room this time (room1)was very dated and poor condition of the bathroom wasn’t good at all, I had a member of staff knock my door while I was in the shower and he explained that the water was leaking down stairs in the bar area. Possibly from the bath was not sealed correctly or the plaster missing round the bath.

We enjoyed a comfortable stay in an inn of character.
Pros:

Dinner and breakfast were fantastic. Restaurant was comfortable with a calm, quiet atmosphere. Friendly, helpful staff.

Cons:

Stairs to room were difficult for us to climb as we don't have the best mobility. I appreciate that in such an old property with character it is difficult to change such features. More than a night stay would be tiring!!
