The simplicity of the place

Comfortable and the staff were very pleasant. I am more happy staying in a place with character than a chain place like Travellodge or Premier Inn but it is when character moves to tired that this becomes an issue.
I think tired would be a good description. Some damp in the bathroom and the wallpaper and fittings had obviously seen a lot of use. Not an issue in itself but I didn't feel the price reflected this. Competitor properties, Premier Inn and Travellodge and even Wetherspoons were either the same price or cheaper and the quality of the accommodation was superior to here.
Nice and clean ,close to town
Quite noisy,doors banging alot
The staff were all nice and friendly
No lock on bathroom door noisy radiators, there was a lot of noise and disturbance in the rooms opposite us but that wasn't the hotels fault
A lovely, central location and very cheap overnight rate.
The accomodation is very basic and pretty tired and scruffy. You could hear people talking in other rooms and doors opening and closing.
Location is excellent for the city centre and for the cathedral. Clean rooms with tea and coffee available in the room. Excellent food and quick service.
On arrival I was asked if I wanted breakfast for £12.50 so I paid for a breakfast. In my room the breakfast menu offered just a continental breakfast for £7.50 which I would have preferred. When I enquired whether I could change my paid breakfast the receptionist said he couldn't do a refund on the machine at the reception desk.
Central location, price
Noise
Close to all amenities
Room really run down, black mould on tiles in shower
Good breakfast choice, great location, nice staff
Staff, beds were comfortable, tidied after day one. Coffee facilities
Bathroom was tired and mould behind the taps on the bath ( room 7). Windows were opaque.
Loved the central location, easy access to everywhere. Warm room, clean and looked after.
The noise from the barely there windows. You could hear all the traffic as if the window was wide open, but it was closed, I checked several times thinking I was losing the plot. Our room was right next to the main road, you could hear gear changes, the music people were listening to in their cars etc all night the traffic was so close. Such a shame as the beds were comfy, the room was cosy but we didn't sleep more than an couple of hours and so had to leave breakfast as we couldn't face it.
Complimentary ear plugs would've been all that's needed for me, I wouldn't expect windows to be replaced etc. I would stay again, but would bring ear plugs/noise cancelling head phones.
Breakfast was very good
The room was nice and spacious
Staff were very pleasant
The bathroom could do with updating
Walls and doors were scuffed and could do with repainting
The mattress was very uncomfortable, very soft and bouncy
There was only one bedside table by the double bed when there was plenty of room for two
