Beautiful dog friendly hotel set in scenic countryside
Pros:

Dog friendly hotel with very spacious rooms. Lots of space for our baby’s cot, pram etc as well as the dog bed. Great location for nearby dog walks with good space on the grounds. Excellent breakfast every morning, bar menu was very good and reasonably priced.

Cons:

We didn’t get to go to the hotel restaurant in the evenings as the venue was hosting Christmas parties during our stay in the last November weekend of 2025.

Beautiful location
Pros:

The hotel, location and decor is stunning. The stable room was big and comfy. Nice shower pressure. The christmas lights were beautiful.

Cons:

Bathroom was a little tired. Cleaning staff knocked on our door 5 times before checkout time, the first being very early in the morning around 8am. I could understand knocking once but repeated knocking at that hour was annoying.

It was ok. I wouldn't rush back. Unless I upgraded.
Pros:

Wonderful location and the attention from the staff teams was very good. The breakfast was good. The evening meal on our first night was well presented, hot and appeared to have been mad on site. This was the vegetarian option, mushroom and parsnip wellington. As a keen cook I wouldn't choose that combination and pastry needs to be lighter too for a good Wellington dish. This was rather chewy. Kale too is a tricky vegetable because it tends to be tough rather than tender.

Cons:

We found the room location in the stables rather trying in the long walk through two hallways and via two courtyards and finally a utilitarian fire door to get into a stark equally utilitarian room. Bleak decor well suited to a lone male business traveller. Deeply disappointing for a hotel of what we expected to be of a high standard and a far cry from the warm and attractive photographs on the website.

Pros:

The main building was lovely and surrounding gardens.

Cons:

The first room we we're given was very cold and not particularly inviting but they changed it for another in the stable block.

Beautiful old estate (could do with some tiny improvements) but will be back!
Pros:

The location is not only very convenient but it is set within the beautiful grounds of the estate. Rooms overlook endless fields and Greenland which was truly wonderful to wake up!

The rooms were fantastic, modern yet sympathetic to the surroundings and history of the building. Amenities were also great and above expectations especially for the price paid!

Cons:

This is rather picky of me but the breakfast was “fine” but nothing to particularly amazing. Whilst it was a weekend morning thus busy, stocks were rather depleted and there was a real lack of selection. The food on offer seemed a little cheap e.g. only one type of fruit available, only sliced bread etc.

I appreciate that in more the summer months that the hotel is used for events and weddings which it is well set up for, but the space felt a little empty and lacking of character or atmosphere- maybe finding a balance of this would be best!

Pros:

On arriving at the hotel i asked to be charged for breakfast, I was asked if I was sure I would be wanting breakfast and i replied yes, the gentleman then stated it is the same cost if you arrive to pay in the morning, I advised i would be requiring breakfast - however arriving at breakfast the following morning i was advised i was not booked for breakfast and the rate is more expensive, the waitress was helpful and sorted this for me

Cons:

The room was very cool and found it cold during the night, and the window was high up and when the blind was pulled down, it was caught up by the wardrobe
The bar area offered a good choice for the evening, but i was disappointed with the cereal selection I would have liked bran flakes or weetabix but the selection was corn flakes, coco pops, rice krispies or alpen / museli, the cooked breakfast would have been better with plum tomatoes and mushrooms too

The staff were amazing, would definitely book again in the future.
Pros:

How easy it was to access the room, the bed was a great size and extremely comfy.

Cons:

The heating didn’t seem to work, had it on for a couple of hours with no temperature change to the room, but the portable heater worked.

Pros:

Lovely place! Big rooms and nice bathrooms

Cons:

Unfortunately my room was right above the area they receive deliveries so I woke up really early to the sound of trollies, doors banging and constant vibrations and people talking loud.

Lovely stay but very thin walls!
Pros:

Had a lovely stay, food in the restaurant was exceptional, room was lovely

Cons:

Have stayed at this hotel twice, the first time we were in the out building which was absolutely fine, second time we were upgraded to the main house, couldn’t tell any difference in the room size but the main difference was the walls were incredibly thin, anything going on in the room next door we heard and anyone walking past/having a conversation we heard
