Great location, reasonable parking nearby, clean and comfortable room, nice beds and linens, great shower, great toiletries. Coffee shop with tasty reasonable priced breakfast options attached to the hotel.
The room door seal isn't great (you can see light under the door) and perhaps the walls are thin/the sound really carries despite carpeted hallways. You can clearly hear reasonable volumed conversations from the hallway. The bigger problem is at night. The building is beautiful and has a nice event space. I'm assuming during our stay it was the 'happy ' wedding guests that continued to wake us up. It was quite startling, so loud it felt like the people were in our room. If you are a light sleeper I wouldn't recommend on a weekend, and even if you aren't a light sleeper the noise is so loud be prepared to be woken up. The lounge/bar was not what I expected. It's basically part of the lobby with all the lobby traffic-the ambience is not great if you are looking to relax, have a drink and conversation. Fortunately, there were some nice restaurant / bar options in the area.

Impressive hotel in a great location , staff are lovely and the facilities in the room were really good. We loved the hotel’s history and the features through the hotel. The bar is impressive.
The sofa bed was old and uncomfortable
All the staff except the MANAGER
One evening, we returned to our room and found it unlocked. Thankfully, nothing was missing, but we are certain that we closed and locked the door before leaving that day.
When we entered, it was clear that someone had cleaned the room because the beds were neatly made—exactly how they looked when we first checked in. We reported this to the hotel immediately. What disappointed us the most was the manager’s response. There was no apology, and instead we were given several excuses, such as the door being difficult to close and that we may have left it unlocked ourselves.
We are completely sure we locked the door. Also, the beds were remade in a way we wouldn’t normally do ourselves. What we felt was missing was genuine concern and accountability regarding a serious security issue.
It’s unfortunate because our first impression of the hotel was very positive. The general staff were kind and even provided us with complimentary water bottles. However, the experience and how the MANAGER has handled the situation, significantly changed our overall view.
The property is in an excellent location. Staff was amazing on check-in.
The TV was not working. We have to have staff come up to reboot it. This was not a major problem just an inconvenience. Secondly their first room we were in was leaking water from the ceiling, which was causing heavy drips. We had to exchange rooms in the late evening just as we were ready to go to bed. We did receive compensation, which was great, but it was not convenient to change rooms.
